An honest question..

So the weekly refresh was yesterday, and I did everything I normally do on Tuesdays, Nightfall first, then classes, then the raid for all 3 of my characters. I sadly did not get the gear I wanted (gauntlets for my alt hunter, arms and legs for my titan). Later that night I was playing with one of my friends, I've known him since middle school and I am 20 now..so he's been one of my closest friends for a little while now. And I asked him if he wanted to do the raid, basically implying that I would do the raid with him even though I really had no reason to do it, because I had already completed it with that character. Then he was all like, "Nah man, I think those raids take too long and I have played too many hours on this video game." Then my other buddy joins the lobby and is all, "VoG guys??" My other friend was then saying, "you don't need to do another raid man, you don't need to get that gear, you might not even get it." All of the comments my friend was making honestly sparked a serious thought in my head, how much Destiny is too much? I have played with many raiders who have 400+ hours played and are still all, "Man I need _____, I need ______." :( When I hear raiders talking about what they need or want from the raid and then they don't get it..I can't help but wonder if this too will be me. 400+ hours in and still searching for more. To be honest, I don't know if I have played this game too much. I have been a gamer my whole life since the Halo CE days. I have always had a social life, always have been in good shape, and I even have a girl that I've dated for the past 19 months. I am a college student, and have a work study job where I get in like 12 hours a week. My honest question I would like to ask is, how much is too much? Are there a certain amount of hours played where you officially become a no life? I want some real responses. Thanks everyone!

  • Have a balanced life. The fact that you are asking this question to yourself means there is a void that your soul is sensing within yourself. Balance your gaming with something else you might actually be interested in. Learn to play a new instrument if you have musical talent. Do something new. You can always come back and catch up with the games , hell you might even get them at a lower price :P Games are not everything. It is good that you have a much balanced life already I think. But this whole ELITIST thought about owning every piece of armor or gear it is meaningless. The important question is, do you game to show-off that you have such and such gear? or do you game because of the love of gaming? Once you have figured it out you will know your answer
