HM VoG isnt fun anymore
All because of the templar fix.
Unless you have an experienced raid team and good weapons the hard mode raid is an excruciatingly painful experience.
Templar is easily the hardest part of the raid. Without the cheese my raid team and I get stuck at templar for hours sometimes. We never cheesed atheon or NM Templar. We only cheesed HM templar to get to the rest of the raid without wanting to throw our ps4s out the window.
The hard raid is no longer worth it imo.
Hopefully bungie get things right with crotas end.
Edit: What I'm trying to say is that HM templar is harder than it should be and sometimes causes so much frustration that I would rather not do the raid at all. I have beat HM templar many times legit. Just sharing my opinion about the fight.

Reading through the responses has made me realize how toxic this community is.

Though I did see some light in the darkness.

Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't like to cheese or ever relied on the cheese. My raid Team and I are very experienced in the VoG and have beat HM templar many times. I just feel templar needs a little tweeking.
If you think I'm just a scrub and I should "get gud" then that's your opinion and I will respect it.

People just woke up rude today or something. The community can get pretty lippy. I agree with you though, I can see why bungee did it but it doesn't make people super happy. For the Templar section, I just have my team stick together with the relic holder and take cover by the two posts (near that middle conflux spawn) before the stairs. Having a Titan help out with a blast shield once in a while is great! I am a Titan myself but watching a pro strategically place the bubbles were pretty cool. Helped out our team a ton!! I hope it doesn't totally discourage you from the raid or any of these jerks below. They're not listening to your opinion so don't listen to them :) have a great day!

ran through normal raid the other day with thorn...preety awesome to shoot atheon with it

I played with the team last night and it took a little bit an several wipes but we finally were able to beat him on hard. there is a trick, that I won't mention you can look it up online but using the strategy the relic holder needs to continuously break his shield every time he has a super because what this does is allows the team to shoot the first set of oracles and as soon as the relic older breaks the shield it interrupts him for spawing a next set of oracles and then everyone can proceed to do damage to him you can do this as fast as possible and you'll prevent him from getting to enrage mode Using this method we were very quickly able to beat him on hard

7 RepliesFor me Hard Raid has always been not worth it because I had probably 4 randoms with me each time. failed everytime. I beat it with the Atheon push in the beginning but that's the only way. Guess ill never see my 30 haha

Templar is not hard. We did it the first try two Times in a row. The first time with only 4ppl after the first super because rockets in someones elses back is apparently not a good thing.

There is a reason its called hard mode. I have yet to do it but it isn't supposed to be a walk in the park.

Took him out in 1 try. The other 2 we wiped once but both times I died immedietely to the Templar, sitting around like a moron all my fault, and they 5 manned it.

I think the anger towards this post comes from your argument being essentially "the hard raid isn't fun if I can't use an exploit to nullify one of its major battles." I've cheesed the templar; I've beat him (on hard and normal) "legit". There's no question that the templar fight on hard can be challenging. But it's not glitchy or unfair/random the way the atheon encounter can sometimes be. I think thats where you're losing people here. If there were actual issues with the battle that made it random or unfair, that's one thing. But I don't know what you expect, in terms of a response, when you come onto the forums and post something that basically says you don't feel the Raid is fun unless you can cheese your way through parts of it.

Hey guy, I know it seems ridiculous, and yes I used to push the Templar on hard just to get through it faster, but I do know how to kill him on hard fairly easily. And I have gone back to this now and I will share it with you. Make sure you explain it to your group and you may have to do it a few times to get used to where to go when he teleports. Before the relic holder picks up the relic, have the other five people go to where the right conflux spawns, you will be here the entire time. Pick up the relic and join your team. The relic holder will help with supplicants and oracles. You will only kill the oracles on that side, don't try the others you'll just have to cleanse for those. When you are supercharged make sure your team is ready and tell them to stay close to you. Hit the Templar to remove shield, as soon as you do, and the shield is down, ground smash to remove bubbles. Every one unloads on Templar and you take care of as many harpies as possible without putting yourself in danger. You can do this even after losing three people an still kill him.

I felt your pain during raids last night. If you join a random avg team, esp a team with players that have avg weapons, templar is a legit struggle. In general, the Templar is far more challenging to defeat compare to final boss, Atheon, which is just counterintuitive. On the bright side, with a solid team, there are strategies available that make the fight relatively easy still.
