Before Bungie or Activision...... or both molested this game the factions played a heavy role in the crucible now it's just live fire exercises and Lord Shaxx calling the losers cry babies for being put on shit teams of mouth breathing window licking troglodytes

I do recall seeing a video where the PvP seemed to be based entirely off of the factions. If that had been what we ended up getting then requiring crucible marks would make perfect sense. Unfortunately what we got was the opposite, and the crucible mark requirement seems entirely arbitrary.
