Although far from the first game I played, my favourite game has to be Final Fantasy 8 I think it came at just the right time in my youth when I was a young teen and to me, it got everything right The battles, the enemies, the story though a bit iffy was mostly solid, the personality of the characters, the arts style, the different environments and the drama, this game changed everything for me as it grabbed at my soul and squeezed emotion from my every pore I'm not going to write a review about it lol but I absolutely seen FF8 as some next level shit that only a lucky group of gamers played and appreciated. It pushed the boat out for me and apart from the Last of Us it's hard to get that same type of emotion now days If you guys never got to play this game I suggest at some point you set aside some time and play this game from an age where gaming mattered, where the developers actually tried to sell their games and was the reason we all played If i had to choose 1 word to describe it, I don't think I can. It's just one of those things you need to play to appreciate

  • Exactly the same for me. I played a lot of other games before FFVIII, like Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Theme Park, and a lot of Sonic, but nothing pulled me in like FFVIII did. I absolutely could not get enough of it, I even wrote a story about it for a year 5 assignment, from the beginning of the game, to obtaining Ifrit and up until after the Dollet mission. I too, could write a huge review but I won't lol. Anyway, from FFVIII onwards, Final Fantasy has been a huge part of my life and I feel so glad that I was able to experience these stories. +1 for you.

Probably King's Quest for me. We had it on an old Tandy, way back in the day. :) Edit: Sorry, I responded to the wrong thing :)

FF8 was awesome. I was addicted to the in game card game Triple Triad. I worked nightshift and would stay up during the day watching my newborn while my wife was away and it was easy to walk away for a little bit to handle newborn baby business and keep me awake. I'd sleep from 4:30pm to 10:00pm then go to work, come home at 8am next day and pop FF8. Now my son and I game together on all platforms haha.

  • You need to play FF7. Blows 8 out of the water. I did like 8 but 7 is the best one hands down.
