Sonic the hedgehog is probably the first game I was truly addicted to and tried really hard to actually complete. I never beat any of them until sonic 3 though, but I eventually went back and beat 1 and 2. After that, most of my friends were playing computer games and I got hooked on gemstone 3, a mud only available on AOL. Man that wracked up some phone bills for my mom. Then there was Doom and Wing Commander 4, those were great games, and wing commander got me hooked on story driven games. After that came the muds, followed by UO which had me addicted to MMOs.
