All jokes aside tho, u have to recognize and understand the fact that u are the exception! Most players do not want to run around for hours farming for materials. And honestly i dont see how or why someone would wanna farm for that many hours just to avoid pvp. You should just suck it up and play pvp and if you put a legitimate effort you will find you can accumulate rep n marks so much faster, or maybe actually learn to enjoy pvp

Tell me then how removing the option to exchange mats for rep/marks helped improve this game for you? Either use it or don't, it didn't add any loophole to provide and unfair advantage. Just see all the negative complaints on how tedious it is to complete. I see no benefit unless the goal was to block access to a large amount of items PvE/solo players wanted to buy, force us to play PvP and degrade our PvP team, and cause posts and replies to divide the PvP and PvE community even more. Not one reply has explained how removing this helps those of us who play the way we do from day 1. You'll find NO posts from me that complained about no being able to buy IB, Queens or Raid gear. Those items should only be available if you do the corresponding activity. That is how it should be. Blocking access to Day 1 legendary items for sale is wrong. If the gear was real PvP gear, I would have no reason to post this complaint. The problem is the gear is for gear for both PvP and PvE. Yes, this change added a huge benefit to our community.

Here's the real reality, a lot of players think PVP isn't any fun! Thus, they don't enjoy it! You can't ask them to find fun where there's not any for them! Just an asinine idea. All of the guys I know and play with don't play the PVP. But, I guess those 20 guys are just the rare small minority in your belief.

Actually you made a statement with no real backing. If you go to the feedback section there a good amount of people who enjoyed farming for rep/marks, and that's just the ones who bothered to post.

Maybe your right but im willing to bet dollars to donuts the vast majority of the people playing this game dont farm for rep or marks. At least not in the capacity that it was their main focus.

Plenty of them. Why should anyone be forced into playing something they don't want to? Especially considering there was quite literally no negative effect to have the matieral for marks exist. Literally nothing. This change is nothing more than a massive middle finger to PvE Titans as they are now forced into PvP to get a set of legendary armor with Intellect and Discipline without relying on sheer luck.

Ok dont attack my reply because you dont agree with it. I was stating an obvious fact. And that statement you have in quotations, is that from me? Whatever it doesnt matter. I have no problem with anyone farming for rep. The problem is they made it so you can buy material now. If they still allowed a material for rep system you could just buy material then trade it back in. Doesnt make sense plus the vast majority of players dont farm for rep. If you do the math its like 100 hours of farming to gain one rep level. I cant imagine thats the kind of grinding bungie had in mind when it was put in the game.

Rep isn't the subject matter, its the marks. Rep can be gained in both PvE and PvP (PvE is much faster for rep gain infact, you can get 500 rep an hr by yourself and 800+ with a group of 3). But what use is that rep gain for those that don't play PvP? Getting faction packages? The chances of you getting a set of armor with intellect and disipline out of those packages is astronomically low. The removal of matierals for marks is a pure negative. And when it existed, it was only a pure positive.

This is an honest question...how do you get crucible rep in pve? I thought the farming for rep argument was because players didnt want to play crucible.

No, the focus is about the Faction vendors that have their own rep system but use Crucible marks. Its completely understandable that the only way to get Crucible vendor stuff should be through the Crucible, but people did it so they could get some of the Faction items from Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and War Cult.

I get I'm not the majority playerbase. But, I bought a game that gave me an alternate path to gear outside of pvp. Sure there are exceptions, but the vast majority was available, even if it took longer. This is no longer the case, and a major selling factor of the game has been removed without notice or apparent recourse.

I do believe its possible to have both honestly. I like to believe bungie didnt take into consideration the players who actually farmed for rep/marks because they didnt realize that players actually used it as a way to avoid pvp. I guess i just realized that players who use this method SHOULD be on here complaining lol. More power to you gaurdian!
