There's probably a better solution than reimplementing the selling of materials. Perhaps they should just make it so the factions accept crucible OR vanguard marks for gear? I think the original idea was for the factions to play a larger role in the pvp experience but since that all but got cut out there's not as much reason for them to only accept crucible marks
