Asian American? Irish and many other nationalities have been enslaved at some point in this countries history granted Africans Americans have faced more as of late but learn some damn history. It's 2014 and besides the older generations who grew up only knowing and practicing racism (and that goes for any race) it's just something that's brought up to stir the damn pot. The ferguson outrage is because a bunch of people who were not there believe they're psychic

 • Trust me I know history and am well educated. That doesn't make the post any less ignorant. And the question was referring to being gunned down by police, not about historical oppression. I used it as an example to why in today's society, PROTESTING is becoming more common. However regardless of how you or I feel either way the comment was still unwarranted and unneeded especially in light of recent events.

 • I'd say to you then we'll why is a police allowed to gun down an unarmed man.. It's not like this is a one time incident we see this happen over and over again. Instead we should be asking why the hell can't the cops use a tazer or rubber bullets. I mean is shooting someone really the only way. I mean it's 2014, I just think there's a problem when a cop can take an innocent persons life and doesn't have to pay the consequences.

 • Does that mean he deserves to die for that.. I never said he was innocent. There's a bigger picture. And that is that cops should not be allowed to take a mans life and pay no consequences.

 • I think the key word is "innocent". I wish there was non lethal ways to incapacitate someone but strong enough people can keep going after being tased

 •
I think the key word is "innocent".
Bingo. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, anyone who tries to paint Michael Brown as this innocent little angel is delusional. This case isn't like the Trayvon Martin case where there's any kind of debate. There was video evidence of Brown committing strong armed robbery literally minutes before the incident occurred. Apparently the cop had no knowledge that Brown was the perpetrator and even if he had I'm not saying that would be justification for shooting an unarmed person in cold blood. However, it SHOULD say something about Michael Brown's character, whether we want to admit it or not.
