Making the factions only accept Crucible marks is a poor mechanic. Making the quartermasters sell mats is a great mechanic. Your argument can be applied to the people that hate to play PvE. How are they supposed to get the mats to upgrade their gear? Up till recently, they were forced to play PvE in order to get the things required. Same thing with getting to level 30. They have to play PvE in order to meet the goals required for Level 30. There is no single way to get to 30 without PvE. Don't get pissed at Bungie for making the game accessible for ALL players. This PvE/PvP war needs to stop. That is your choice to only play half the game. It is the PvP'ers choice to only play half the game. The rest of us are experiencing the WHOLE game and are not actively complaining about it. Bungie is catering to the people that play the whole game and are expecting people to play the whole game. If you only want to play half of it, then fine. Your call. But don't complain when there is an update that makes you play the whole game, because you're supposed to be.

  • I too am a PvE centric player. I really don't like PvP. But I agree with your points. PvP only players were forced to do PvE activities (and some of the more tedious ones at that) to get what they need to upgrade. The material exchange fixed this. However I don't think they should have removed the ability to convert materials for marks. It shouldn't be an either or situation. Allow both. If the weapon venders could no longer give marks for materials give this functionality to the armor vendors. Lord shaxx, or any of the vanguard vendors. PvE versus PvP should stop. To do this bungie should stop forcing people to play things they don't want to. Offer the queens' wrath and Iron banner in regular rotation and have both offer good ways to get to 30.

Those that solely play PvP have had two events outside of the normal gameplay. They don't have a way to collect materials, Level 30 gear, don't have the ability to explore the maps that they play on without being harassed by small arms fire, and most of the time, their bounties are unable to be completed because its always -blam!-ing Salvage and Salvage is never a playlist. PvE'ers get the raid, daily story missions, public events, weekly Heroics and Nightfalls, patrols missions to collect mats and screw around while exploring the world, and all the bounties are able to be completed with ease. It seems to me this game in its every day state focuses on and mostly caters to the PvE player. The PvE vs PvP mindset is what I'm trying to stay away from. Regardless of how people feel about either aspect, they are both a critical part of the game. You can't experience the ENTIRE game completely unless you play in both parts. There is a synergy that exists between the two in this game that makes it unavoidable. That's why I keep answering these types of posts with "you're only experiencing half the game." Step out of your comfort zone and immerse yourself in the ENTIRE world. You may be surprised with what you find.

  • I agree with you. PvP doesn't get as many special things as PvE on a daily basis.. There should be more.
