If i understand you right it seems that you want access to crucible weapons and armour without doing any crucible. In my eyes it seemed weird to allow you to purchase equipment without taking part in the tied in event, they could have just made one vendor. The way they have it now makes more sense to me. I remember when the devs talked about how they envisioned players finding out about different weapons. The idea was that you would find yourself with someone in the wild (a strike, raid, or patrol) and they would use a weapon you never saw and ask them where they got it from. The companion would then tell them "from the crucible" and this would make others want to participate in the other activity - obviously it would work the other way for people that play mostly pvp too.

  • The 2 crucible vendors, sure, but the 3 faction vendors, no. They should take either, or a separate one gained from doing either pve or pvp while wearing a faction class item. You get rep from both, they should take marks from both. Without the trade in, this is broken as he11.

Bungie has been very unclear as to what the factions really mean, so I have no idea if they are supposed to be for pve or pvp. They talked of an internal dispute hit that doesn't tell us if it relates to pvp or pve
