I've never understood this "need to get pvp gear" thing. Until very recently I've been almost purely PvE. Got to 28 just fine, had decent gear, decent weapons. Everything was great. IB changed things for me a bit and I've been doing a lot more PvP recently (starting to enjoy it more as I get better at it), but I didn't have to. Nothing PvE bar the hard mode raid requires you to be over level 28 right now, and lets face it if your doing hard mode raid you've done normal mode and are probably a 30 already with raid weapons. Is the PvP faction gear really so much better than everything else that you have to have it to play the PvE game?

  • I, personally, don't really see a problem making the vendors take either mark type. I'm all for more ways to acquire stuff. My comment was more on whether there was any real need. I'd never felt that the gear was that essential to be honest, though to be fair I was just think yesterday I want a legendary void fusion rifle and the only one on sale is 77 wizard for crucible marks, so perhaps you've a good point. :) Perhaps this points more to a lack of PvE vendors rather than the PvP ones should be dual purpose. I wonder if Eris is in part there to resolve this as she's a PvE vendor with a bunch of legendary weapons.

  • I can't speak for anyone else on the matter, but I like to buy Dead Orbit gear for my characters to have armor with a black color scheme. Still haven't gotten a shader from their packages. Not to mention that, at least in my opinion, the faction gear tends to look a lot better than the Vanguard gear. Not to mention that some people (not me, but I know a few of my friends do) try to indulge themselves in the game world as much as possible and support different factions by wearing their marks/cloaks/bonds and armor. Sort of like a roleplay thing, I guess, I wouldn't know. I don't see any downsides to making it possible to buy faction gear with Vanguard marks.

  • Some of the weapons can only be had via the factions.. Some of those weapons happen to be at the top of their class for legendary weapons. Plus after the DLC there will be even more. Why is it that 4 factions only take crucible marks and one faction accepts Vanguard marks? But yet you can gain rep for 3 of the factions by doing PvE stuff. I think at a minimum the 3 factions need to accept both. If you can gain rep from both PvE and PvP they should accept both currencies.
