Even if you suck at pvp you get 2 marks every round, rounds take 8-12 mins. After 3 rounds you can get between 6-9 marks.
Farming for materials is firstly boring and takes like 30 minutes to get roughly 20-40 if you know all the spots.
40 mins give or take to get 50 materials giving 5 marks. Terrible way to gain crucible marks.
I personally never even used the exchange because of this reason

30 mins to get 20-30 mats? No way it takes that long. You can get 60-70 in 20 mins!

I don't need to prove anything to an eedgit on the internet. It's not like I'm proving I solo nightfall only using my toes, it's picking sodding flowers! Just because you don't do it doesn't mean others don't do it and enjoy it. Go round rocket yard maybe five times, kill everything, do patrols, open every chest, less than half an hour and 60-70 mats richer. Plus at least two blues and some patrol xp.

Edited by seg: 12/2/2014 10:04:27 AMYeah but in exchange you shot npc and possibly get gear at the same time you get vangard marks with public events while doing the bountys....including the fifty mats that turn into five crucible marks....but yeah let me jump right into forty mins worth of pvp which I -blam!-ING HATE FOR NINE -blam!-ING CRUCIBLE MARKS....sounds like less to me....and its in pvp yeah ill pass.......waste of time.....!!!!!

I can get double that in 30 minutes from my farm spot. I could grind an hour and have a full stack easy. I can also get 2-3 God chests in that time and get better rewards than I ever had in the small amount of PvP. That's an easy 20 marks, Who knows how much Xp, Glimmer and 2-3 public events rewarding me with possible materials. Not to mention the extra items from God chests.
