A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie
EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.

First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

The weapons and gear aren't any better then the stuff the vanguard quartermaster sells. I think it's perfectly reasonable for bungie to make players looking to increase their crucible rep to actually play crucible. Stop complaining.

4 RepliesI'm agreeing with the players that say suck it up and play Pvp. It's not even that hard, not that different from PvE. You're just playing against people, and they are just smarter. (sometimes...). It's a shit ton easier. And hey dude you might even get some exotic stuff for getting last place. That seems to be a common trend. You hate it now, but I'm sure you'll find it more enjoyable once you blow a few guardian heads off or wipe their body off the face of the map with a fusion rifle or super.

4 RepliesI never once even thought of exchanging 50 mats for a couple of crucible or vanguard marks... The effort vs reward was not justified. This new feature is much better imo. I despised grinding monotonous farming routes and strikes where we just bumrushed to the boss over and over. It was time consuming and not rewarding enough to warrant the time put into grinding.

5 RepliesI hardly see the logic behind being able to buy crucible marks with materials anyway. It takes way longer and is boring. Bungie only changed it because they looked at the numbers and saw people were not using it as much as they would if it was flipped, marks for materials.

6 RepliesEdited by Big_Zimm: 12/3/2014 4:38:07 AMI read this and a few things come to mind.. 1) Why do you want crucible gear if you don't intend to play in the crucible? The Vanguard gear is better for PVE, so if you need legendary gear and only play PVE it will better serve you to use Vanguard Marks to purchase it. 2) This is how all other aspects of the game work. There are people to don't like running the raid and strictly play crucible. They are not able to purchase raid gear outside of playing the raid. So why should you be allowed crucible gear outside of playing the crucible? 3) You don't need to be good at PVP to earn a lot of marks. One 12 minute match will earn you 2 or 3 marks, depending on if you win or loose. This mean in one hour you will earn at least 10 marks, if you loose all 5 matches. That would be equivalent to farming 100 materials, which is hard to do in under an hour! edit: fixed example #3 to show correct amount of marks per match.

1 ReplyThe Vanguard gear needs to be rotated with different ammo bonuses. Different ratios of Strength, Discipline, Intellect. If I want to increase the reload speed of my Scout Rifle or the amount of ammo I can carry for that Scout Rifle I have to buy faction gear. Vanguard gear for the Hunter never has these options. I am glad that I was able to buy what I could before Bungie messed up things again.

14 RepliesI read this as....I want pvp gear but do not want to play pvp. You buy that gear from the crucible vendor. You can still earn vanguard marks and faction marks through pve. If you want PVP gear. PLAY PVP

1 ReplyI think OP is right that Destiny has become a PVP centric game ... and if you don't like the idea of killing or being killed by Guardians, it is a legitimate compliant. The gamw lacks balance ... it should be fixed like easier match making for the Dailies, Weeklies, Nightfall and VOG. I have come to really enjoy Control, good mental exercise, but I can understand how others can hate it.

I want to know what were you using you're crucible marks for? Those shit crucible and vanguard weapons? Lmao the raid weapons outclass them by far, they even outclass some exotics so please stop complaining or quit the fukin game already.
