A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie

EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint: Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post. Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons. EDIT #1 END First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs. Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP. What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks? I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already. If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games. Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00. If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time. Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP. Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand. All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls. After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible. I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too. If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way. If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance. BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

    • Maybe, just maybe, the new system...with items for final leveling and how leveling is achieved...changed the way things work and the farming was a casualty of the new system. Has anyone thought of that? Or is it...RAGE AGAINST BUNGIE...NOW!!!!!!!

    • 1. Learn to play crucible. 2. Participate in crucible and lose (still earn marks) 3. Miss out on two vendors, and rely on Vangaurd (Vangaurd has great weps) Saying this game is 80% crucible due to gear restrictions isnt taking into account all the missions, strikes and raids. (All which by the way award gear)

    • Thank you Bungie for caring for us pvp players, the players that actually care for the game and are actually good, unlike the pve scrubs that suck and cry at everything they do.

      • If you can exchange one way, you should be able to exchange the other. Also, there should be just one unified marks currency. Splitting vanguard and crucible marks is silly when there is a reputation that needs to be attained before purchasing.

      • It takes longer to farm materials then to actually gain the exp and marks playing crucible. If you dont like crucible, dont play it. I have never purchased from the Crucible Vendor, yet I have about 8 weapons only obtained via crucible marks. The weapons that drop have better perks anyway. I have a Vanquisher with Field Scout stil with full stability-great for PvE/VoG. Quit your QQ

      • Real guardians play PvP, scrubs hide in PvE. Vendors don't favour scrubs, and don't want to be represent by them.

I ain't good by any stretch however just by playing ib I managed to get the achievement for 100 crucible marks in 1 week and this is something I never thought I would get! Just Try all the difference game modes then stick with the 1 that u feel most comfortable with

          • You're angry... Because your wasting your time to get mats and getting 25 rep for turning in 50 of them to a quartermaster... Go play a Vanguard Tiger Strike why don't you...

          • You don't deserve PvP gear if you refuse to play said aspect of the game. YOU are the problem here, not Bungie for trying to cater to all player types.

I'm so amazed this is like the fifth tread about this. Seriously you folks traded 50 mats for 5 marks and 25 rep. That's just insane to me because that is the worst trade off I have ever seen. Not to mention even if you suck at pvp its not that bad once you find a weapon setup you like in the game. It can actually be fun to do if you have folks with you in a group. Also on all three of you characters you did a total of 33 strikes, 9 pvp matches, and 0 raids. Why the bloody hell do you even need mats if you not doing anything but patrol? I mean seriously what are you doing in patrol that even requires three 28 character's if you not going to raid and do strikes more often. So bloody confused as to how you can consider farming mats to be the only thing in pve. I'm going to have to down vote this because you have done nothing but patrol.

              •
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment
Uh, the expansion is almost entirely new PvE content. New story missions, new strikes, a new raid. Also, they specifically started buffing some exotics in PvE this patch in response to the people that complained they were applying PvP nerfs to PvE. Also, if you used the material exchange to buy stuff from the vendors, you're a fool. The exchange rate was so poor that you would have to waste hours of your life just farming mats. You're better off just playing strikes and relying on legendary drops. Besides, the Vanguard weapons are almost all better anyway.

              • I don't quite understand who you think you'll be harming by doing shitty at crucible? What's the point of the goal "I'll be worst PvP player ever" Ok? So what? You'll annoy the people on your team probably sure. Then they'll go on with their lives. As you should with yours. Farming for mats was boring and tiresome. If you can't adapt to change then see ya.

This seems like a "you" problem. I'm a pve player and stick to vanguard. I have no need for crucible marks. On top of that I haven't bought a single piece of gear in the tower since I was leveling up my second character. These days my only focus is on raid gear and exotic gear. I'm happy with the update and new mat exchange. I despised farming as much as you despise pvp. In fact if I were to stoop to your level I would run around known farming spots and look for people on chest runs. I would rush to those chest in the hopes of opening them before anyone else could, even try to go for them in a random order. Then I would discard my mats in the same time wasting, self-destructive way you would stink up crucible.

                • If you want Crucible gear, then play PVP. If you want Vanguard gear, then play PVE. I don't see the problem. Sure, with the faction vendors, I get it - but the gear from the Crucible vendors should be exclusive for people who play PVP. But since it seems you only play patrol, you don't really have any need for better gear in the first place.

                  • If you want pvp gear go pvp. This is straight forward as I can put it without being a dick. As well as it following the lore of the game. The factions fought each other during the early days of the city and were then put into the crucible by the vanguard because of the chaos and bloodshed they caused. They are crucible factions nothing more.

                  • Okay I'm sure you and most people agreeing with you haven't played an MMO before, or you have but very little. There are different types of gear, all somewhat similar except in looks or a few stat changes. Some you get by grinding out PVE and some you get by grinding out PVP. You don't get to do something and then get rewarded or be able to purchase something completely unrelated to what you just did PVP gear is for PVPers and PVE gear is for people who play PVE. But that doesn't mean you can't wear crucible gear in PVE You just have to put in the effort into that particular branch of the game So good on ya destiny! Thumbs up to making players try. And not letting everyone have everything

Oh I misunderstood on the first read. You used to level Crucible marks purely from material exchange and now you can't? Well, I suppose if you don't do pvp then you shouldn't get pvp rewards. They should make the faction vendors accepts either crucible or vanguard marks
