A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie
EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.

First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

As an almost exclusive PvE player, I legitimately have been surprised by the amount of people that feel this way. I personally never coveted the faction armor, since it pretty much is the same as the vanguard and so I never exchanged mats for marks, especially since spending 30 to 45 minutes to get the 50 you needed was not at all worth it. I have found the new material exchange to be a god send though, since I tend to get around 200 marks a week for my 3 characters while just doing dailies, weekly 28's, nightfalls and public events. I was literally drowning in marks with absolutely nothing to use them for beside randomly buying a piece of armor to break down for ascendant shards once every other week. A couple of weeks ago I calculated that I needed around 4.5k materials to fully upgrade everything I have. I do agree though that there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to buy faction gear with vanguard marks if you feel like it.

As someone who loathes pvp i can relate.Luckily i have a overly energetic nephew that enjoys pvp so i let him play.depending on which weapons you use sometimes you have to use crucible marks for a piece of gear luckily the hand cannon boots for hunter are dead orbit so the 65 marks wasnt bad but if i needed crucible rep that would of sucked.I also keep forgetting to unequip my freaking faction cape so i lose out on crucible rep.I dont bother with the raid and seriously have most of the exotic bounties just rotting on various characters all stuck on the pvp portion.I have come to terms that i wont get that super smooth fatebringer or that cool cape on the crucible vendor. That being said i still honestly enjoy playing which says alot im a mmorpger i know grind and i have had to make the transition from solo player to pvper to raider many times in mmo_s i guess if you want it bad enough youll make the transition.The only thing i worry about is how the new weapons come into play with the expansion if there all only from the new raid versus various vendors.

9 RepliesYeah I agree, if they continue to try forcing us to play crucible, when it gets to be a absolute must to play the garbage PvP...i will simply just stop playing the game! Destiny was intended to be a PvE game and that's what it should be 100%. I like many absolutely hate the crucible and refuse to play it!..played it for bounties played it to get my marks for all faction emblems and now I am 100% done playing it.

1 ReplyI agree with you, it's -blam!-ing stupid that PvP nerds affect pve. They fix all these "cheeses" and then make our weapons crappier for it. It's not making it challenging it's making it annoying. Every other game makes you more and more powerful as you level up and play with better gear and weapons. Destiny, nope. I feel far from badass, especially when a group of 11's can kill me if I try to Rambo them and I am Lvl 29. I should be a god to them.

All of my exotics are far more effective in PvE and farming planet resources is a million times less tedious. I have no idea where you came up with this rant.

3 RepliesMaking the factions only accept Crucible marks is a poor mechanic. Making the quartermasters sell mats is a great mechanic. Your argument can be applied to the people that hate to play PvE. How are they supposed to get the mats to upgrade their gear? Up till recently, they were forced to play PvE in order to get the things required. Same thing with getting to level 30. They have to play PvE in order to meet the goals required for Level 30. There is no single way to get to 30 without PvE. Don't get pissed at Bungie for making the game accessible for ALL players. This PvE/PvP war needs to stop. That is your choice to only play half the game. It is the PvP'ers choice to only play half the game. The rest of us are experiencing the WHOLE game and are not actively complaining about it. Bungie is catering to the people that play the whole game and are expecting people to play the whole game. If you only want to play half of it, then fine. Your call. But don't complain when there is an update that makes you play the whole game, because you're supposed to be.

Who the hell trades in materials in exchange for marks? I was constantly in need of materials to upgrade stuff, where as I was always stocked up on marks.

Read some other comments here and I do agree with you, but I think [b][u]I[/u][/b] am the worst in PvP!!! But i see a compromise - offer both - there was no need to take away the trade in of mats.... why even DO that... they simply could have added the option to buy them.... Boggles the mind!

You should probably just do the best PVE part of the game, the raid, and not worry about the vendors selling gear for crucible marks. I've had my eye on an arc HMG from Dead Orbit, since I have yet to get the Thunderlord, but other than that I have no interest in any vendor item. Thanks to the raid and random drops I have almost 2 sets of gear better than vendor gear (raid sets) and I have a full solar and void complement of weapons. I'm only lacking an arc heavy weapon.

Dude. Pve has strikes and the raids. Thats the majority of gameplay. How can you even say pvp is favorited. If anything its lacking.

True pve would atleast have one lvl 30....pve players will also get a new raid and strike(Croat dlc) why these aren't noticed, idk....but this new system is a faster way to gain materials and works best if you max out both vanguard and crucible meters. (If your one of those guys who wear the faction armor, there is absolutely noooo use for them in pve, as raid gear is superior). Why spend $60+ on a game if your only gonna play half of it?

My first PVP attempts were horrible since I came from the PC master race and playing FPS game on a joypad was for me like trying to play FIFA on a wheel with pedals. Slowly tho I improved up to my current lvl where 30 kill games are relatively frequent and rocking high KD games if the own team isnt feeding kills to much to the enemigos. Tbh if there wasnt PVP I wouldnt even touch the game or quit long ago. There is enough PVE activities for the enviroment killing lovers.

So, here's the thing. Stop. You complain about whiners and then make an essay long post about why you're upset that Bungie is improving PvP first before PvE. And now you're response to it is to be a troll in PvP? I'm sure that'll make them focus on PvE when there are dicks in PvP right?

I'm with you, I stay away from PvP and I do fine in game. I don't want to be pushed into killing other Guardians. I signed up to kill aliens. I PAID to kill aliens. I WON'T pay to watch 12 year olds hide in a corner of the room. When I was in the infantry and a bastard kid did that I tossed a M 67 through a window and there was nothing left of that room. If some kid is hiding in a corner in destiny I throw a grenade, he somehow lives thru it and runs off to find another corner. I'm done with that, people can get on here and whine and say destiny is supposed to be PvP. But I didn't see a trailer for a bunch of Guardians killing other Guardians, DID YOU?????

2 RepliesOk how about this... I only played PvP and until recently they "forced" me into PvE to reach level 30, upgrade weapons, complete exotic bounties.... Only difference is that the PvP crowd doesn't complain constantly and just plays the game

I think in general they are trying pretty hard to push players to multiplayer content. Having crucible marks available for mats trade does not further that goal.
