A BIG F-U to PvE Players, Thanks Bungie
EDIT #1 BEGIN - Summary for those who missed the OP long a$$ complaint:
Removal of material exchange for vendor reputation and marks generated this post.
Using a Day 1 feature NOT exploit to access and buy legendary gear and avoid PvP for personal reasons.

First we get a ton of mods to fix the PvP whining resulting in PvE nerfs, then 2 PvP events to 1 PvE but still more PvE nerfs.
Now take away more access to vendor weapons and armor to those of us who HATE PvP with a passion. I was fine farming for material and purchase Crucible items even though it was daunting. Never complained since I could avoid PvP.
What the heck was the logic behind removing material exchange for Crucible rep and marks?
I never saw any posts or complaints about resource exchange. If anything, it kept PvP haters like me away from ruining PvP games even more than they are already.
If this game was advertised as a PvP centric game with a scarce PvE element that would take a back seat to everything PvP I would have passed on it like I did with Titanfall and other PvP games.
Either bring back the material exchange for Crucible marks and rep, open all vendors to accept both currencies or I'll just play PvP to piss as many off as possible to obtain a K/D of 0.00.
If your going to ruin PvE, I'll do my part to ruin PvP as best that I can. Maybe I'll even be stoked to play Iron Banner 3.0 and shoot for the #1 spot in the worst PvP of all time.
Just as you have people that hate PvE, from reading the posts for the past couple of months, you have more that hate PvP.
Please tell us now that Destiny is 80% PvP and 20% PvE so we know where you stand.
All I know is after waiting and hoping Bungie would bring some love to PvE, all we got was a third and fourth kick in the balls.
After the expansion is released and there is still no resolution to this horrible PvE treatment, I'll waste my extra time playing even more like a complete noob in PvP just to piss as many people off as possible.
I'll highly recommend that others who feel the same do too.
If this was just "another" unintended side effect from a patch I may feel bad for ranting. If not, enjoy the last $ you'll see from me or anyone else who feels the same way.
If there is some great addition in the expansion to nullify this rant I truly apologize in advance.
BTW, it might help to post a list of the 100 worst PvP Guardians in your app. I would like to try and make the top 10 of that list.

1 ReplyEdited by boff: 12/2/2014 7:54:23 PMhow an you rank crucible without playing crucible, the fix makes sense, you still have the 3 other factions to buy from, you miss on 1, because you choose not to play 1 part of the game, seems fair. and as for this being a pvp orientated game, the raid is there jewel in the crown, the nerfs and buff are annoying, they should have nerfs that only apply to pvp

I'm not trying to be a dick, but if my old, slow, blind ass can go positive and win more games than I lose in Destiny then there is no reason for anyone over the age of 13 to not be positive in this game. The aim assist, supers and over abundance of heavy weapon ammo make this one of the easiest games I've ever played. I'm not saying I'm good, but the fact that I can be positive at my age/skill level really shows how easy the crucible is. I really don't see why there are so many people afraid of it here.

It was not an unintentional side effect, They listened to the community who wanted a way to buy materials. Having both would have broken the game in regards to getting Crucible marks. PVP factions are for playing PVP, It's feasible to think that you might actually have to play PVP if you want to get PVP faction gear. Destiny is by far PVE heavy, after all there are only 4 main Crucible playlists and the occasional Salvage or Iron Banner. On top of that reaching level 30 can only be done in PVE.

A lot of negativity, but you made some really good points. The vendors should accept either currency. I just enjoy PVE more than PVP. They should also make PVP specific nerfs instead of changing the gun for both.

First, most of us run both pvp and pve...second, as a pve only player, you've never even raided. Why would Bungie cater to players who won't try the pinnacle of pve content? I also think you have skewed your arguement. How has Bungie nerfed pve? Thorn is better in pve. Monte Carlo is better in pve. Mythoclast is better in pve. Invective is better in pve. SGA is better in pve...see where I'm going with this? Edit...what has really changed for you, OP? You can still go patrol to your heart is content.

Okay, unlike you..there is a lot of balanced players who play both almost equally. So please stop complaining. I'm an All around player and it makes me happy not having to farm AT ALL NOW because I NOMALLY hit max Crucible Marks in 1-3 days. I also usually hit Vanguard in 5 so it's a win win for me and most players.

Do some patrols now post patch. There are new sword knights roaming around that you can kill and take their swords for a few minutes. It may not be a lot, but is something new for PvE.

Kinda pissed about not being able to get crucible marks anymore,hate PvP and only play it when I have to.Guess it was a total waste bringing the 3 other factions to rank 3 as I'll never be able to buy a damn thing from them. There is no end goal in PvP so makes it pointless.

Vanguard vendors have equivalents to crucible gear, you don't need crucible gear, so not getting marks/rep for them isn't ruining your pve experience. And you can still join factions for rank rewards. Rank rewards are honestly better than the vendors' inventories, anyway. While each rank gift isn't guaranteed to contain new gear, the gear you will eventually get often have better perks/stats. And faction gifts can contain loot they don't even sell. Buying from vendors is rather pointless unless you want a so-so legendary immediately. The only downside is being unable to rank up quicker by exchanging mats, which still isn't a big deal - do the nightfall for the weekly bonus xp modifier, then do all your regular pve stuff (dailies, weeklies, patrols, bounties, strikes, publics), and you can hit a new rank each day.

All you do is play Patrol... You have never raided and rarely play strikes. You have done the story, which I agree is lacking but you have yet to experience the huge majority of the game. I understand you want to play the game your way and that's fine but Bungie is not going to cater the game to you and a small group of people who refuse to play PVP, raids and strikes. Sorry man but your argument pretty much null and void if you haven't experienced the majority of the game.

You literally play a farming simulator since you don't raid or do strikes or pvp. Since those are the three things that arnt straight farming. Patrol is for all intents and purposes what you do when materials need to be farmed.

So, its unfair that I can't reach level 30 by playing only pvp? NO, because the idea of Destiny is to play both PVP and PVE.

Quit acting like a whiny little bitch, I hate pvp but throwing a tantrum will not solve the problem. If you think going into crucible and intentionally playing like shit will solve the problem you've got another thing coming. So far with this post all you've done is make an ass of yourself and look like a total moron. Mat exchange was decent but now there's a loop which players could exploit if they add it back. I never exchanged my mats for marks I just sucked it up, put on my big boy pants and played crucible. I suck at pvp, I hate it, but it's the only way to become a better player overall. Keep acting like a child, I hope bungie treats you like one.
