*Turns in marks for materials* "Oh hey! I have materials!" *Turns in materials for marks* "Oh hey! I have more marks!" .... .... .... I think you can see how this could become a problem...

  • Diminishing returns, the exchange rate isnt that great and it gives us a way to complete gear setups without intruding on others favorite game mode and sucking, being lazy, or just plain old afk. If they want to push us into pvp, then they should first figure out why we hate this game's pvp.

  • I think PVP sucks because of the maps. They are all tunnels funneling you in to a shotgun meat grinder. I would love to have a control game on some of the wild maps, maybe 12 players a side at least. Maybe a destiny version of killzone's operations game mode, or even battlefields attack and defend game mode. You could even dress it up as a PVP strike.

  • This can be easily resolved by slanting it to the house. 10 marks for 20 mats 20 mats for 5 marks Keeps the options without the abuses

  • But it can still be used to an extent. They would need to put a limit on, which nobody would like.

  • this is silly. The only thing needed would be to ensure that the exchange rates for either don't offer net increase when used together. I don't know the current numbers... but 50 materials for 10 marks, and then 10 Marks for 50 materials (or something similar) would ensure that there is no problem.

  • Nope, not as much as a problem, but it could still be used until the user runs out of one or the other.

  • so? How is is a bad thing if I have the freedom to exchange either currency for the other? The answer is that it isn't an issue. Bungie messed this one up.

  • It could easily be considered a reputation and glimmer exploit? There are people at Bungie that think about stuff they do with their game you know...

  • its only an exploit if the exchange rates offer a net increase. If rates of exchange are the same in both directions there is no room for an exploit. Rather, what you would have would be players playing how they want and being able to exchange the rewards gleaned for the gear they want. That sounds like a great system to please the players. The only issue is making sure that the rates work together and do not favor one play-style an inordinate amount. The problem is bungie did not release a game that possess a well thought out method of exchange and player economy. Its all ad hoc changes because they messed up in the first place.
