Wasn't it like 50 mats for 5 marks? That's chump change. You can grind strikes and earn way more, plus it's more fun than running around looking for mats.

  • Yes but those give vanguard marks. PVE players have no issue getting those. We ground mats to cash in for crucible marks, so that we could buy faction gear and weapons.

  • Farming mats can be done completing bounties and patrol missions, plus pubic events happen, and you get items from chests to upgrade weapons and armor along with other good stuff, plus you get engrams that level up cryptarch rep for possible legendary engrams. There is a lot of things to gain from farming materials, when done right it's pretty rewarding.

  • You're right... but, after you've maxed out your marks for the week, you can still turn in materials for faction experience, and that's useful. Plus some of us enjoy looting/farming... it can be relaxing as well as practical!

  • I bet it's great to snap Netflix, kick back, and farm mats. I'll be grinding strikes while watching Netflix as soon as I get my xbox one.
