This is ridiculous! Bungie please collectively pull your heads out of your asses.
I just collected over 300 spinmetal material on my other account in order to exchange for vanguard and crucible marks... only to find that option has been removed. Are you -blam!-ing kidding me, this is an absolute joke!
As The OP stated, why can't you do it both ways. Exchange materials for vanguard or crucible marks or use marks to purchase materials.

I feel your pain, I was saving up the 1000 (had 500 or so saved) spinmetal so I could trade it all in and get the cheevo for the 100 crucible marks. !@#$# PvP!!!!!!! I am now forced to play it. Guess I will never 100% this game.

Just put a rubber band on your stick and afk through the matches while you're asleep. Seems like Bungie is putting this out there as an option. Who knows, you may wake up with some exotics ;P
