BNG: Why did you remove Materials for Marks?
When I 1st read the patch notes I was excited to see the addition of Marks for Upgrade Materials. Finally I would have something else to spend my excess Vanguard marks on. I always like when games offer you options. If you needed extra marks, you could exchange some materials, now if you need extra materials you could trade in some marks.
Of course, that excitement was quickly dashed when I discovered that you REPLACED the (Materials for Marks) with the (Marks for Materials).
Why? Do you guys have some personal grudge against choices and options? Why does everything have to be [b]one way OR the other[/b]. Why won't you provide multiple options instead of limiting us to just one? Why can't you let your players decide what they prefer to do instead of forcing everything to be all or nothing?
Instead of letting people choose if they want to play PvP or PvE, you seem to be trying to push people into both. * Why not just let people enjoy the parts of Destiny they love without punishing them for it? *
By replacing the material exchange, people have no choice but to run the crucible if they want to purchase anything from the faction vendors. Where before, if you didn't want to run the crucible, you could farm some materials, trade them in for marks, than spend them on the faction vendors.
Well, not anymore...
I just don't understand.
* Why couldn't you just remove the (reputation/glimmer) gains and leave the option to trade materials for marks? At an exchange rate of 5 to 1, would being able to swap one type of Mark for another really have been so bad? *
* You provided so many great new ways to aquire extra materials, than took away the only other feature they could be used for. *

I agree, If you have both systems, it isn't unbalanced. I think for the PVE community, without the ability to trade materials in for crucible marks and reputation, that a large selection of gear and weapons becomes unavailable. Please Deej, if you have anysway over this, can we please have our trade system back in. It is the bones of the PVE community. My thanks for fixing the Exotics, I understand it is one step at a time. 13 RepliesIt didn't really make sense to get reputation from collecting materials anyways. The amount of rep you received was miniscule grind it out like everyone else I nor did many use that feature thus they deemed it useless and removed it from the game.

well you can venture out alone, but wont enjoy the weekly unless you have 3 full ranges of maxed weapons, excellent armor and a don't mind grinding

Please revert back or let us have both options, i refuse to play your pvp if youre going to force it on us.

Another vote in favor of Bungie ADDING additional options that some players want, but not REMOVING an option that other players already love. Would it really have been that hard for us to have BOTH?!! This makes no sense Bungie!!!!

Sorry for the profanity but THE -blam!-!!! bungie i hate crucible it's a unfair exchange for marks but seeing the fact i did not have to play pvp i told every person that said i was crazy for farming to get the rep and marks it was worth it so i would not have to play a Shitty pvp sorry this pvp is is just that the halo pvp was great this horrible and i was going to buy the pass today but not anymore for yes this.

4 RepliesMaybe they didn't want people to buy a bunch of materials then be able to use the materials to increase their rank with a faction to quickly. I've never used my materials to increase my rank but I like being able to buy materials instead of spending like an hour farming helium filaments and come out with only 100 of the little shits, I have 2 times as much helium as I would spending an hour farming it lol. Not hating just commenting with my opinion

Look out crucible now weak players will troll PVP to get mark like some do in strikes! The patch was good but yet again you got to remove stuff to cater PVPer's not thinking how it affects PVEer's. Well the crucible troll is coming to a planet near you!

only thing that bothers me about the update is the exchange,i didnt mind the time collecting materials since i also looked for chest's,did patrol and went around for pupblic events,i dont mind doing strikes for marks either but i dont like playing pvp,especially if all i get is 3 marks per win,dont like the lag in pvp nor the other bull crap that comes with it like people abusing exoctic weapons like the fusion rifle,i dont like they are pretty much forcing us to play pvp when alot of us do not want it,and i dont like that i may have to start over on vangaurd when im nearly rank 3 in dead orbit and would like to see it back not having to start over in rank 0 vangaurd...just my thoughts

I just collected over 300 spinmetal material on my other account in order to exchange for vanguard and crucible marks... only to find that option has been removed. Are you -blam!-ing kidding me, this is an absolute joke! As The OP stated, why can't you do it both ways. Exchange materials for vanguard or crucible marks or use marks to purchase materials.

Just go into PVP and dance, get rewarded and get your marks. Its crucible dance party time! Now if I only had a way that I didn't have too play PVP to get those marks.....
