BNG: Why did you remove Materials for Marks?
When I 1st read the patch notes I was excited to see the addition of Marks for Upgrade Materials. Finally I would have something else to spend my excess Vanguard marks on. I always like when games offer you options. If you needed extra marks, you could exchange some materials, now if you need extra materials you could trade in some marks.
Of course, that excitement was quickly dashed when I discovered that you REPLACED the (Materials for Marks) with the (Marks for Materials).
Why? Do you guys have some personal grudge against choices and options? Why does everything have to be [b]one way OR the other[/b]. Why won't you provide multiple options instead of limiting us to just one? Why can't you let your players decide what they prefer to do instead of forcing everything to be all or nothing?
Instead of letting people choose if they want to play PvP or PvE, you seem to be trying to push people into both. * Why not just let people enjoy the parts of Destiny they love without punishing them for it? *
By replacing the material exchange, people have no choice but to run the crucible if they want to purchase anything from the faction vendors. Where before, if you didn't want to run the crucible, you could farm some materials, trade them in for marks, than spend them on the faction vendors.
Well, not anymore...
I just don't understand.
* Why couldn't you just remove the (reputation/glimmer) gains and leave the option to trade materials for marks? At an exchange rate of 5 to 1, would being able to swap one type of Mark for another really have been so bad? *
* You provided so many great new ways to aquire extra materials, than took away the only other feature they could be used for. *

haven't updated destiny yet and not too sure if i will even though i bought the expansion ages ago because i was sooo excited about it (i was all like "just shut up and take my money"). im seriously thinking of not playing after hearing about this exotic shard crap. 'become legend' my backside, should change that to 'become legend on weekends' cause thats the only time when players will be able to fully upgrade their exotics now. they just lost a player who wouldn't buy cod cause he fell in love with destiny. but now cod is looking so much better to me than destiny just because of this addition. so much for keeping me interested for the next few years lol didn't even last one year

5 RepliesThis post deserves more attention. I use Monday nights to round up any Marks I have left to get this week. First there's a cap on how many, then a cap on how easy it is to obtain them. It isn't [i]that[/i] hard to find enough material just for an upgrade, so why would you give people the option buy them [i]at the cost of being able to sell them?[/i] Retag your post, dude. Get as many people here as possible and make your voice heard.

5 RepliesBecause if they left in material exchange for marks, along with the new marks for materials, it provided a method to convert Vanguard marks to Crucible marks. Bungie's intention is obviously to have those remain mutually exclusive. It would've been better to have kept quiet and have things as they were because what it boils down to is, PvE players who complained about needing to farm materials have effectively removed their access to Faction gear for themselves. A case of be careful what you wish for...

Would it really be better to institute a system in which marks could be traded for materials and materials could be traded for marks? Exploits would be found. Admittedly it does lock people who absolutely stone cold refuse to participate in any type of multiplayer function, but I can't see why anyone in that camp would still be playing this game. To me strikes were done to death after two weeks. With no option to do heroic patrols theres no challenge and there's no reason to play without other players IMO. sorry if you feel differently. It doesn't make perfect sense, but it makes some sense at least.

Maybe if there where more factions who accepted vanguard marks, we would not be complaining, huh bungie, im growing tiered of defending this game. at least you fixed the exotics.

14 RepliesYou're not supposed to be able to get things from the crucible quarter master unless you play crucible. And vice versa with pve vanguard marks. If they left it, people would buy materials with their vanguard marks then exchange them back for crucible marks. I know this because I was gonna do it. The same would have worked vice versa. If you want the marks, play the activities that give them. Don't be mad at bungie for stopping a loophole before it was abused, because that what it is, a loophole.

That's a good point a lot of people don't like pvp and that was an option for them. Probably an unintended consequence of everyone complaining about farming. Perhaps they will realize and put it back

1 ReplyI feel your pain; Unfortunately it seems they want players to spend $9.99 USD a month on Sony PlayStation network to do random strikes. I removed my card from my wallet I can go back to World of Warcraft. Where one don't need 2 other friends to do stuff. I didn't mind farming mats to get rep. I seem to wonder is Destiny just going to be have 3/6 friends or F*** off? I care for my great grandmother in my home. I don't have time to waist it on a fail fire team for a weekly heroic or heroic or even raid for that matter I do them at my leisure but to be forced. Sorry I know when to GameStop the Game Destiny and get a different game all together.

I can get Materials on every planet. they're just lying around for anybody to take. Marks are hard to get. I was hoping to see some kind of economy system in place sooner or later. A "Trading House" were we can exchange one of the economy items that we have for one that we don't. There's just too many currencies in Destiny; Crucible Marks, Vanguard Marks, Upgrade Materials, Ascendant Materials, Exotic Materials, Glimmer, Strange Coins and Motes of Light. We need a commodities exchange where we can trade what we have for what we need, and let the market dictate the value of each item.

2 RepliesJust troll the PVP guys. You get 2 marks if you lose and 3 marks if you win so why not? If Bungie is going to screw you then screw them back. Fight fire with fire. Go into PvP and do bare minimum until all the hard core PvP players get on here and blow up the forums complaining and maybe Bungie will change it back. If not, well you still get 2 marks for every loss. 15 marks a day will get you the max of 100 in a week.

13 RepliesI say that all of us PVE players that hate PvP should just play the crucible...and play it badly. You still get two marks if your team loses, I think. Once all of the PVP players start to complain on the forums about us PVE players being on their teams, maybe Bungie will listen and add a way for us PVE players to buy gear from the other factions again. This won't be a popular idea, but at this point who cares. I'm tired of PVE players getting the crap end of the stick!
