Our banner strikes fear into the hearts of all who lay eyes upon it, and as we walk under it, know that we are protected because the banner is held aloft by all Batchildren. Many years ago my father was asked: “Are you not afraid?” His reply? “I know why I am here. Why should I be afraid?” Fear is born of uncertainty.
