Hi all,
Just to jump right into it I have to say that for me the worst part of Destiny is by large, the farming of upgrade materials for armor and weapons. I don't know if this has already been suggested, but I think there are three simple ways it can be made less burdensome.
1) Have chests and the dynamic spawns of the material simply have more per collect, its crazy to me that 95% of the time you get one or two materials. Some items require upwards of 75+ to fully upgrade a weapon. I know most of the pretty good farming routes for materials but even then, depending on spawns it may take and hour or two to collect all of that for ONE item. That is if I am focused on only getting materials, toss in bounties, patrol missions, public events etc, and the squirrel chasing can make it take even longer.
2) Instead of trading materials for Marks at the vendors, make it so that marks can be traded for materials ( or both). I feel like for the launch of Destiny, having materials be traded up for marks was a good way to get those last few marks you may need. However at this point, I assume like most games that have a level cap and "end game" a lot of the players are near max level so their game play is not focused on getting marks to get new gear, but rather getting materials to upgrade their existing gear. On that note I have an over abundance of marks that I could trade in for materials, I am sure others do too.
3) When breaking down rare or higher gear, you have a chance to get a random material. The amount could increase with it being a legendary or exotic item, but I feel this should be a given already, if it took me 70+ materials to upgrade this item, how is that when i break it down none of that comes back out?
Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying week and has a great Xurday tomorrow. Happy hunting and safe travels fellow Guardians!

Bungie definitely needs to make the resources for this upgrade system more abundant. Some ways to do this would be. Marks should be able to be traded for materials like you said. I also think they should be able to be traded for glimmer as well as shards and energy, all four should be exchangeable. I always have marks shards and energy, and i never have glimmer or resources. That doesn't seem like an upgrade system that's thriving. A potential drop in the nightfall should be a minimum of 80 of a resource i would way rather that than any legendary weapon , mark, shards, energy. Dismantling an upgraded weapon should grant a quarter of the resources put into it back. Vangaurd/ Crucible/Faction Rewards should be able to drop materials. Again 40 of a resource is way more valuable then a legendary weapon or 1shard and 1 energy. Also you should be able to get a significant amount of glimmer from bounties. I think its ridiculous you don't get paid for doing bounties , what kind of bounty hunter doesn't get paid and does his job just so the vanguard likes him a little more . That just doesn't make sense lol.
