I work at McDonald's and this makes me proud. Lol. I love my job and I've worked 8 years. I personally would have had a sausage mcgriddle for breakfast and pretty much the same thing for lunch.

  • 8 years at McDonald's? How the hell can anyone dedicate that much time to fast food? You could have had two degrees in that time and moved on.

  • I spent 4 years at taco bell and was making 38k a year by the time I was 22. Fast food actually does pay well if you love your job and respect your bosses. Unfortunately fast food just has a bad rep.

  • In case you missed it, I love my job. I did go to college, but I didn't finish because of personal reasons, all I need was an internship, but that was 4 years ago. I've forgotten most of the knowledge I've had from that. Yes, the pay isn't great, but I always get 38-42 hours a week. It's also the only job I've ever had. If I had the time to, I would pursue an education in the auto technical industry, however, I don't have the time, nor the availability with being a manager and pretty much having to work every shift at least once a week.

  • I didn't mean to come off disrespectful, it was just surprising to me. Isn't there some online program you could do that works around your life? My program is very flexible and allows me to do the work on my own time, within reason. But the more I think about you, if you love what you do and are content in life, who am I to judge? Carry on!

  • Being a mechanic is more hands on than doing online school. If I'd have felt like this in high school, I would have done the auto tech program that they offered. Instead, at that time, I wanted to work in music, along the lines of live sound or a recording studio, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it, but unfortunate things happened. I appreciate your sentiment, I'm just used to the common troll. yeah, it is hard to fathom a fast food job for nearly a decade, I didn't even want a job in fast food when I started job hunting at 16, but it came down to me needing a job and they had open interviews. My boss' boss has worked for our organization for twice as long as I've been alive.
