Its ironically funny how the devs alledgedly dumbed down the game for casual players and kids (kids as in10 to 15 year olds) just to end up making them leave... *sigh* see? This is why the demon/dark souls games are amazing, they stick to old school hard mode and more hardcore gamers, dang it bungie...

  • Ive played many hard games, its not the difficulty that bothers me, its the lack of a matchmaking service.... Try beating Mike Tyson Punchout without cheating then we can talk hard

  • Back in those days, dark souls would have been the easiest game if people would have already had such advanced technology...

  • Omg.... remember that battle toads level on the hover bike? I swear i was a chill kid that week until i got obsessed with passing that only to get pulled out of it by my bro... i thank him for saving my psyche or whatever is left of it after that game session all those years back.

  • Is there a way to cheat Mike Tyson's Punchout? Game Genie I assume?

  • No there was a code to get to the different levels and bypass the game... so I guess it isnt technically cheating, but there were also game genie codes

  • Ah, ok. But back then the only way you got codes were from friends or strategy guides since so few had internet access. I don't consider codes cheating since it was the save mechanism - most early NES games couldn't save any data, and when they did you still had a chance of losing it!

  • Yes, dark souls is unreal. No one is bold enough to make a game that hard anymore. They didn't even make ds2 that hard because they wanted more sales

  • I did notice it was WAY easier yet still pretty tough.... on new game at least... damn that + sign. And i wasnt a dark souls fan before playing dark souls2 so i didnt know wtf i was doing or how to aproach enemies from previeous experiances too much, a friend lend me dark souls 1.... needless to say i almost owed him a new game from my frustration to get to the 1st real boss after the tutorial boss. Tho i bought dark souls 2 so i could give those frustraded hours closure.... and it seemed way easier than dark souls 1 thru all the campaign, except a few certain areas. But i was never frustraded as bad as back then.

  • My favorite part about DS1. The tutorial was a -blam!-ing boss. When I beat it it was by far the most satisfactory feeling iv ever gotten from a game. I will never play it again though. I dont even think I could start DS2 without killing myself or becoming a hermit. Some PTSD shit you get from that game.
