    Droids that need sentient direction in order to attack and function. They need a live commander. Also, Rakata=EU Star Wars EU= officially scrapped by disney

    Not all droids need that for instance there are bounty hunter droids that work under their own free will and OP said the whole universe at the time i believe EU was still canon
