OLED while better than led or lcd doesnt have the longevity to be really viable for a TV yet. Plus the price point is super high for this newer tech.

 • Well it is still being perfected. As for the price, all new TV tech is ridiculously expensive when it is first sold. Oled overall image quality and realistic colors is almost as good CRT image quality.

 • Wait an advanced display tech is almost as good as a 50+ year old display tech? I thought Cathode Ray Tube was not only old, but actually dead at this point in the us. Did you mean comething else or does CRT not mean what it used to.
Am I really that old?
Haha yes its really REALLY old, but CRT(at the end of its shelf life) had some of the best image quality ever. The reason why they died out was because of the size issue. Some weighing as much as 300 pounds! The problem was that they couldn't make them more than 40 inches without them weighing more! Some CRT displays even had 1080p! I have a set from 2003 that smokes some of my LCDs. I use it to play my ps2 haha
