I have a plasma and have been gaming with it for about seven years. I have never experienced burn in. I have a Samsung. It's a great tv. If I ever get a hint of anything the tv has burn in protection and features that help the screen. ie, scrolling, white screen, and grey screen. I've never had a problem. A big thing is when you first get a plasma tv don't game on it until you log in about 100 hours of regular use.

  • Glad to hear your screen is doing well. I broke my tv in for near 400 hours before even gaming lightly, that was almost 2 years ago. Never had any issue even with Battlefield 4 running on it for hundreds of hours last year. Destinys HUD lacks any transparency, or options to change it besides the screen bounds. It needs opacity options to not further harm plasmas.

I agree. I don't know the particular reasons why my tv didn't burn in. I've even passed out with a menu screen on the tv and had no burn in. I forget the model number of my tv. I did pay a good amount for it but it's old now. The picture is so vibrant I just don't want to get rid of it. It was one of Samsung's top of the line models when I purchased it. The reason I went plasma was because I saw my friends lcd tv and the color just couldn't match what I saw in the plasmas.

  • A good plasma is a sight to behold. I was thinking about getting mine professionally calibrated, but if the burn-in is indeed permanent, than I'm not. Please keep posting here to bring attention to this.
