I want to agree with you on some points because I was getting one shot deaths from a lvl 24's Fatebringer and I'm a lvl 29. I'm pretty sure you can't one shot anything 5 levels above you in game. Boss mode, not on.
But they did say a lower level with a maxed out weapon should still be a threat. That's a bit contradictory to the 3 level "league" range.
I don't understand it either, but it's not stopping me from going after that gear for level 30.

he's 28 that guy was 25 it was 3 levels below and he was expecting to be invincable

No, I'm 30. You can log out in different gear than you pvp in. In case you didn't know.

i do know so why would you think your invincible against 25s? Bungie's own words were you'd be harder to kill not invincible. You did hit him but you missed most shots. He got up close and hit all his shots with a 1 hit kill weapon on all guardians. Now if you were level 30 and him being 20-24 then it would be a diffrent story for you would appear as a boss with ?? as your level.... BTW the level difference works like this for every 2 levels you are under your enemies you do 20 percent less damage... However that rules changes with crucible and fusion rifles instakill within 8 levels. So like it or not he should have instakilled you. Don't like it? Don't play. Personally I hate fusion rifle users so you both suck.
