Agree. In a game with a stated life of 10 years then progression thru levels only makes sense and having more than one way to progress thru these levels makes sense as well.
Now supposedly the DLC s to include higher level strikes and a higher level Raid with new gear that will level to 32 then this is proof that the game will progress as well over its life span.
So how will this get accomplished? Will they offer gear and weapons thru existing vendors that will allow leveling thru 30 and beyond? Will they enable matchmaking for the Raid to open up the possibility of being able to acquire raid gear for everyone? Will they fix the RNG and offer more achievement based reward system for completing the Raid for example? Seems at the present time Bungie has kind of painted themselves into a corner by making level 30 attainable in only 1 way and judging from the forums this is becoming a bigger and bigger issue.
Solutions? Guess we have to wait to see what Bungie has planned. Hopefully they do have a plan. My idea would be a DLC that would allow for crafting of weapons and gear using mechanics already existing in the game, this would allow for more customization and activities in the open world as well as a method to achieve higher light levels for ALL players.
