What's funny: is there a way to disprove God? Give me evidence that he doesn't exist

Give me evidence that he DOES exist, first. And, there is a thing in science called rejection of unfalsifiable hypotheses. Look it up.

But that's what faith is Its not about proving if there is a god or if there isn't That's called fact And faith isn't fact

So, why believe in it?

It gives people hope It helps drive people and push them Its not ignorance From being of both a religious and scientific back ground faith helps me but I know to keep my mind open to all new scientific and cultural discovery's and that's what my faith has done for me

I will try to not offend you in any way, as this is simply my opinion: I find that the human intellect can handle a harsh truth in the stead of a false hope.

Unfortunately it can't Under extreme stress the brain will crack and break And many will turn to religion and faith as support just like if you got hurt you would turn to your family The harsh truth would destroy most people Faith will push us to carry on Faith protects us And faith teaches us to open our minds to all ideals whether it be scientific or not This is where the ultimate view where I believe both science and religion can work together and not oppose each other I am very scientific but I believe that faith is what pushes me to better

So, millions of people are currently developing PTSD because of their lack of religious convictions? I don't think that finding out that this life is all you've got is enough to drive a person into psychosis.

Edited by KILLERBAYNESY: 11/19/2014 3:00:32 AMI didn't say that You read my post wrong And as you said people are capable of dealing with the harsh reality if that was true then PTSD and my other psychological disorders wouldnt be as common because we would be more capable so you kind of just shot yourself in the foot And as I said some people turn religion and faith as coping system just like someone might to turn to a family member Many don't need religion which is fine but actually its the people who don't have faith in anything who actually tend to be the mist stubborn and close minded of people because those people there soul purpose is trying to disprove that god exist and they try so hard to force there ideals onto others which my faith doesn't actually teach and for me its about opening up the mind and accepting others for what ever reason And to a point I think it would drive people mad if all we had was this life You tell me if from the day you were born and all through your life you were told we there was nothing at the end of the road and imagine every one in the world thought like that Some people would go mad and depressed because what would be the point of living if there was nothing at the end of it all

Actually there is a way to see if you are a dog. But on your other point I see what you are saying but it comes down to belief.

There is no way to prove God is real, either. The argument goes both ways.
