The Fallen Retreat from the Rocketyard

This was mentioned in the weekly update under the 'Destinations' title. Anyone know what it actually means? I went to the Rocketyard and there's still Fallen there and they haven't moved whatsoever. Maybe it's a tease for a future update?

  • While I cannot say definently whether or not they altered the spawn timers in the rocketyard, that is not what they are refering to. I never posted anything about it as I figured it would be common knowledge, millions of players and all, I thought people would have already spread the news. You see in patrol the rocketyard was a warzone, where the low intensity fight between the hive and the fallen in the middle of the rocketyard would suddenly erupt into all out war. With both sides sending waves of their soldiers from thralls and hallowed wizards to reaver captains. And for those who don't believe, there is evidence, four videos in my upload clearly shows me fighting in that war, even showing enemies not normally encountered in that region. So if you think this is a troll attempt simply go to my uploads, filter the search for saved uploads only and you will see four videos which sufficiently prove the veracity of my words. This is my only encounter with a warzone, but since then I have kept an eye out for more warzones, as I have the feeling the rocketyard warzone was not the only one of its kind. I will say this about it, it was awesome! It caught me by surprise once I saw the forces flowing onto the field I knew I had walked into the middle of an all out war between the hive and the fallen. I knew one of my childhood fantasies had finally come to pass. Two alien hordes, hellbent on tearing each other apart with tooth, claw & exotic weapons fire. There I am standing between these behemoths of death and destruction with little else then my wits and a fully automatic rifle, I knew death was the most probable outcome, but I would not be moved. I decided as the horde grew larger on either side, today I would make my stand, I would fight. I would not fight for the hive nor for the fallen nor for the silent traveller. I would fight for the human race, my species and though I believed my death inevitable, it would shine as a beacon for all who come to our system with hatred in their hearts and war on their minds, "death is their destiny!" My life was nearly extinguished numerous times during the battle that day and then I could see it, my light was strong but my life was weak, the time for my death had come. As the corpses piled around me and their leaders fell dead at my feet, I wiped the blood from my helmet's visor, to see the strangest sight, both forces were fleeing, hive and fallen unified by fear, fear of one little human. I could not believe what I was seeing, I had routed two whole alien armies, I had stood at the heart of the battle and despite all odds I had survived. It was then I let out a triumphent roar followed quickly by the darkest laughter I have ever emitted, as I had realised the truth. I, Griffensaber, human reincarnate from a long forgotten age had become the reaper of dark souls, destroyer of the foul and wretched, the lightbringer himself. I had become death incarnate and that is why I am the gaurdian legend. So that is my tale, they were referring to the fallen withdrawing there forces from that warzone, I would too, if I saw a single hive or fallen soldier shred hundreds of my fellow gaurdians. (Who am I kidding I couldn't resist fighting such a powerful opponent, hell I would take on the hive god Crota, 1 on 1 just for the thrill of god on god combat) So unfortunately if you go to the rocketyard now you will only find the garrison troops. Though I still patrol the worlds in search of the next warzone, longing for the chance to become the god of death once more. The narrative above is simply a result of the joy that experience brought and that comes whenever I recall that day. For all the perpetual whining I read on these forums, there is only one thing that I really want to say to the creators of destiny, that day finally fulfilled a childhood fantasy, "thank you". And I hope you 'The Traveller' get to find your warzone someday too. My tip would be keep patrolling especially in areas where the alien invaders are in open conflict. Peace, Griffensaber
