Hey guys, I am going to try and get a fire team going for some hard Raid progression. A lot of you are going to gain a couple of levels this week due to the resets and we are starting to see some level 30 guys. Level 29 and 30 players are going to be crucial for completing and basically making any progress inside that hard Raid. So, with that being the case, here is how a progression team that I try to organize is going to work.
My schedule for the next 2-3 weeks will include a LOT of play time after 4:30 US Mountain time, that is 3:30 Pacific, 5:30 Central and 6:30 Eastern. I would like to jump into this Raid no later than about 6:00 Mountain because it is going to take a couple of hours each raid night to get patterns down. After the 2-3 weeks of playing at this time I will head back home and my play times are going to change, I will deal with that then.
A progression team plays together, a lot. We know what our strengths are, what our weaknesses are and how each of us can compliment the various play styles that we have grown accustomed to. Some of us are better at long range, some of us just don't have the firepower for that, these people may excel at mid range. The people who tend to play PvP a lot seem to be much better in close quarters, watching their radar, etc. Both of these styles are just as versatile in a raid. There are phases that require heavy expertise at range and from close-mid quarters combat.
A progression team should have a mix of both, if it is comprised of close range guys, you may just get overrun way too fast during the conflux phases at the Templar. This stage can become very hard quickly if your group begins to wipe, it starts to seem impossible when all that is really needed are a few small adjustments.
A progression Raid team needs to have dedicated days that they can play, and dedicated hours to do it. This will ensure that you get into a habit of logging on at that time and work consistently with that same group. A progression raid team means one thing, you Raid with that group, period. The more you play together, the better off you are, and in turn, the farther you progress. If you start to PUG it up outside of your team you will find yourself losing interest in the team aspect, it never fails. Hard mode raiding is rough, it takes a lot of work, a lot of wipes, and the more we learn each other's voices, play styles, strengths AND weaknesses, the better we can adapt.
Alright, so in essence of the first attempt at beginning a hard mode progression thread, here goes nothing:
Progression Raid Team - Grisbourne Lead
--------------------------------------
Raid Nights - Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (A group can Raid any day/days of the week)
(Additional Raid nights on Thurs. and Sun. depending on player interest and availability)
--------------------------------------
Teams for normal raiding need to have a minimum of 26, 25 if your entire team understands that they will be carrying you through the last portion of the raid. This is very important.
--------------------------------------
Teams need to dedicate at least 2 hours a night, minimum, to Raiding. If all of the members agree on staying longer, great. 2 hours goes by quick and this will ensure that progression is made, that is key, if you can't progress, you will want to stop.
--------------------------------------
Communication is essential for any team, if you can't talk, you can't call for help or tell your team that your zone is clear. A microphone is a requirement for any raid team.
--------------------------------------
Progression teams SHOULD work together, no matter what, until the phase/raid is clear. If you are the type of player that likes to talk trash about other people, call others out for their failures and essentially blame every loss on a single person, you will have a tough time securing a spot on a permanent team. The group's failure at any given stage of a Raid is dependent on the team's ability to work through tough phases, all that may need to be changed is a simple character swap from post to post. Never call out someone in a raid, it begins to tear the team apart, that player may become nervous or impartial to whether or not they should be there.
--------------------------------------
Posted above are the basic requirements that a majority of the progression teams should follow, these are not rules, these are not mandatory. I have Raided for a long time, between multiple games on multiple platforms and all of the raids share similar elements that need to be followed to progress. Teamwork, patience, acceptance and delegation are key. Posted below are the minimums needed for Normal raid completion.
Vault of Glass - Hard Mode
Level 29 Minimum, Level 30 for Relic Holders (For completion)
Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
--------------------------------------
Void weaponry (Primary, secondary or heavy)
--------------------------------------
At LEAST two hours on each of these days dedicated to raiding. If there is a chance that your parents/wife/kids can pull you out, that is understandable, we all have a real life to deal with. If this happens too often it can become an issue and you may be replaced.
You MUST have a mic. for this raid, no exceptions. No excuses as to why it is not working will be accepted, if you are using a headset that requires batteries, grab some spares.
----------------------------------
If you meet the above requirements post here. If you want to LEAD a team, make a post!

That Dude Jake, in the hizzy. 29 Titan for hard raids only, 27 Hunter for normal. EST I am available on Tuesday, Thursday, weekends after midnight, and Wednesday before 5 pm. I'm very skilled with the raid on both difficulties. I had a reliable team, but have lost them to the demon known as CoD.
