• Religion is Sciences evil brother. They don't talk much.

 • No. Religion doesn't do anything about truth. Truth requires proof or evidence. Religion, by definition, lacks proof/evidence.

 • Yet science is proof, but not enough to explain everything. They both go to an extent

 • So, coming up with stories to explain things is way better than just admitting that "I don't know."

 • Anybody can say they don't know. My grandfather was an atheist, and he was pretty passionate about it for his whole life. He was an engineer who built hydro dams back in his day, so he was fairly intelligent (is the least I can say). In his last months of living, he read the Bible for hours a day, because he didn't know what was going to happen. You need to have faith, and without it, you will never know.

 • With faith you will never know, because you're putting a label on something without testing to see if it fits. It's like doing a simple equation: 10x-10=0 Of course, the solution (found when working the algebra) is x=1. Faith would see that equation and go "I think it's 3i." One would reply with, "You didn't even try to solve it, and there aren't even any imaginary values in there." The faith-driven individual would say, "Some guy told me that was the answer, and I know that is the solution in my heart."

 • Well the equation for the truth is much more complicated than that, and no solution has been found. Many individuals will die trying, not knowing it.
believe what you will, I'll stick to mine, and you to yours. Have a good day sir
• The equation for the truth is a combination of many equations of smaller truths, all verifiable as their own true statement with another equation.

 • You're totally missing the point. He is using this as an analogy to prove to you the logical fallacies of faith

 • M8 this is over. I'd gladly ride my horse into battle with ctel, even if we don't agree on stuff. You find something else to argue on bud.
