Ok, so this might not be the best solution, but I think that it's workable and it doesn't require any additional cut scenes or recorded dialogue. Ideally these would/could be added in later, but aren't necessary in the immediate sense. So knowing that Bungie is going to be adding Quests in the upcoming Dark Below DLC, and that they already exist, to a point, with Exotic Weapon Bounties, I suggest that Bungie use this system as a means to shore up the issues with story that people have been talking about. These quests would be given by the various NPC's already present in the game, including the ones that are event based (the Queen, Lord Saladin, etc.). These quests would be entirely text based, out of necessity, and would use locations and enemies present in the game already. I don't really like that either, but I'm working with what I've got. The quests would be used to give background, depth, motivation, and personality to the NPC's, Factions, and Locations in the game. A Quest Log could be added to the Grimoire allowing players to keep track of their progress through each quest line, and allowing them to read a completed quest line in its entirety. Again, I don't like this, as I feel that the Grimoire should be located in the game, but what can you do? To be clear, I'm not offering this as a permanent solution, but as a place holder until a permanent solution can be achieved. Also, I'm not advocating using this system to tell any future stories in Destiny, but only as a means to address the inherent problems with this entry only. I would appreciate any feedback you might have, including thoughts and ideas of what you would like to see.
