Fortunately that's not what happened here because your assumption that "whatever reason" is actually relevant. The reason is somebody else is giving one of us a reward for customer loyalty, and the other one isn't entitled to it. They get their own rewards from a different company in different ways, and even if they didn't - life isn't fair, decisions have consequences, Sony advertised exclusive Destiny content in June, well before the game was released. That was the time to worry about it.
