Activision is splitting the gaming community and ripping us off...

... and people start fighting each other, instead of building a front, which stands for the common thing: quality videogames. If you check my further postings here you will see some quality comments, some trolling and some - let's face it - total bullshit. BUT, my reception of Destiny - as much fun as I have with it - and especially it's purpose for the makers (Bungie&Activision) has reached a point at which I can't ignore the little voice in my head any more. The voice says: "It's wrong!". If you take a step back and take a look at Destiny for what it is, you'll see this: - Great shooting mechanics - Motivating looting spirale, which keeps you going on - Lame story presentated bad and confusing (Evil comes, brings a few factions with it, stop it please!) - Fragmented game world, which just feels like it has been complete at one point, but was somehow fragmented at some point of development... just like the story feels. - Great technical presentation - Repetive Gameplay If you take into account, how videogames driven by huge corporations, like Electronic Arts, Activision or Ubisoft, developed the last 10 years, it is obvious, what the goal of such projects like Destiny is: Satisfying the investors. That's fine with me, since we live in capitalistic times and everybody's free, to take their share of the cake, but I get the feeling, Activision is pushing it to far now. The thing is, you can create a game, for being supported for the next ten years, but you should deliver a good start and expand it from this starting point. The big mistake, Activision - and I am pretty sure, what we see here is Activision's evil work, not Bungie's! - made is, they made a story and world for 10 years, and cut it down to little pieces, so in 10 years, you see the whole thing. That's just not how it should be. You should get a whole thing at the beginning, which gets added by new parts! I played World of Warcraft, I played Guild Wars and all those famous, broadly knonw MMOs and even played other MMOs, not known this much, and I tell you what: I never saw everything and I never ever made it to max level, allthough I played these games a long time, since I'm more of the explorer type. It's finde with me, I don't need to max out everything, I like wasting time in game worlds. How long does it take to play the whole story of Destiny? 10 to 15 hours, I would say? By than, you have level 20 and then, they said, "the game just starts". Well, what starts? Playing the same stuff over and over again, with only a few changes, e. g. Cabal Phalanx can't be shot over by hitting their hand any more and the usual stuff (more hitpoints to the enemy, more damage to their weapons), but it's still more the same. The Vault of Glass is a small taste of what they are capable of, but ... it's the one thing in the whole product Destiny so far! Imagine any other MMO in history would have been release with ONE RAID! Do you remember what games like Half-Life, World of Warcraft or Guild Wars delivered at their beginning? If those games were epic, Destiny is ... a part of an addon of those games, advertised as "breathtaking epic, we make you a legend and this is the next big thing", which it just not is. I still like playing Destiny, but now as the first expansion is advertised again as "breathtaking epic, we make you a legend and this is the next big thing", which it just will not be. Even worse, the "This is for the players"-company made a deal with Activision, so some players of Destiny even get less for the same money. This isn't for the players, this is for the investors! This is the message, which more and more is delivered to me by Destiny! And worst of all, the players are fighting against each other, arguing for these companies and finding excuses for them, while we should stand together and tell Activision/Bungie: We like your game, it's a good start, but we are not your cash cows only. We are your customers! Our satisfaction should be your first goal. But all in Destiny tells me, the goal is, how far can they push it, until the gamer stops to pay, no matter how stupid the game is. And that's what makes me angry. I like Destiny, but I'm not sure how long I can stand this feeling of being milked for an investor's good. P. S. And how can ANYONE defend this PS-exclusive content? It's one thing to sell a game only on one platform (Forza, Halo, Uncharted etc.)! It's one thing to sell a few weapons or one level on one platform only (Call of Duty, vanilla Destiny etc.)! It's one thing to sell a few levels and multiplayer maps on one platform earlier (Battlefield, Call of Duty, Destiny etc.). But it's a whole different story to sell about 20% of an expansion to only one platform for a whole year! In fall 2015 there will be another one to two expansions out for Destiny... who will play a 1 year old strike on XBox One, if not only for "seeing it once"? Isn't this thing needed for the "epic story and thing", Destiny is advertised as? It's just plain wrong! And this is just an example of what's wrong with Activision's attitude! We are not only cash cows, we are customers, for god sake, and we are not happy with that you're doing to us Electronic Arts, Activision or Ubisoft! Try harder, dammit!
