Sony paid a lot of money for the rights for exclusive content/early releases etc. Thats business.

  • That was my point. I wanted to express that by companies that take money up front are losing money in the long term and are losing artistic vision. I also didn't want to quit destiny, my goal is to provide feedback that would open up a discussion of "what can we do" at bungie. That's why I offered suggestions and i've seen them use community suggestions in the past.

The upfront check is probably well worth the few loss sales they will get. Considering they will probably release a Gold Edition in fall 2015, I think Bungie is safe. Often times the upfront funds is needed for developing the game and if not taken will lead to no release. Probably not in bungie's case but it's a possibility.

  • They've thought about all this a lot longer and harder than you. Bungie understands they already have a fan base on xbox so they made a deal with playstation for advertising to maximize profits. Without that the xbone version would have outsold ps4. Bungie made the choice that will make them the most money

  • you are probably right that they spent way more time analyzing their marketing strategies than i have and i don't know enough about the contract that they made with playstation, but i still think my point is valid. I am just expressing how this business practice hurts all of us and hurts the content creators. Last of Us or Halo would not be masterpieces if they allowed for trimmed down versions to be sold on other platforms. Destiny is dramatically reduced with less strikes, exotics, and pvp maps. I also wanted suggestions not a debate, bungie does read this and we have an outlet to make the game better.

  • And if you think about it you're getting a better deal than us playstation gamers got on Cod. You get 90% of the dlc the same day. For cod maps it was a month wait. I think it takes some perspective to realize that

  • The problem is that it won't change until August 2015 or later. It's a contract. Unless Sony breaks contract it won't happen. Why would Sony? They have an edge right now
