Daily "where's the Bad Juju/Thorn buff you announced over a month ago?" thread

Well? You have the time to nerf the Mythoclast and adjust values for Scout Rifles across the board within the same time span, but don't have the time to buff the exotics you stated you were going to adjust over a month ago? At the time when you announced the buffs, 99% of the community didn't even know the Mythoclast existed. Yet, the Mythoclast got adjusted before the other guns get their already announced buffs? Do you even logic? There's really no excuse for it at this point. Edit: I realize some of you think the Thorn does not need a buff, and while that's fine (I don't have it, I don't know), it's also missing the point. The real focus here is the fact that Bungie announced that they were going to buff both the Bad Juju and Thorn over a month ago, yet no changes have been made still (but changes were made to other guns during the same time frame).

  • they don't need a buff for crucible they are actually pretty good when you get their special upgrade but in PvE they should get a buff very under powered.

  • Thorn most definitely needs a buff regardless imo, I mean there's so many better options lengendary, 6 shots and slow as heck reload even with armor that suppose to make HC reload quicker. It's not easy to use in PvP as some say, takes a while to get use to having to run for cover and reload every damn second

  • Bump. The sad thing is, I'm pretty confident Bungie isn't going to release a fix til the December DLC, so that they can proclaim the fix as "additional features", rather than something that was promised 6 weeks ago.

  • I have a fully upgraded juju. Anyone who says to upgrade the mag size doesn't have string of curses unlocked. A larger mag is pointless for this gun it essentially has a bottomless clip. It needs a damage boost. It currently takes 9 bullets to the head in PVP to kill. I think it should be buffed so 7 headshots kill. This still will required 3 bursts but accounts for the inevitable lost shots out of some of the bursts. This also will in effect make the gun feel as tho the mag is deeper. I could see the addition of maybe one extra burst to the mag in addition to a damage buff so you could switch targets mid magazine and still be able to kill them (6 bursts total, 3 bursts per kill in PVP) PVE wise people are simply misusing this weapon. Again I think it should have a slight damage buff (if any!)as my maxed out one still can't kill a vandal with a full burst to the head. This is a crowd control weapon for dealing with adds. You shouldn't be bringing it into phogoth unless you are focusing on killing acolytes and thrall. Another possible fix is simply extending the length of the damage buff from stein of curses. It currently lasts maybe 1 sec. Extending it to 3-5 sec would do wonders for this weapon forcing the player to "charge up" it's damage on a dreg before focusing fire on a captain for example. Also I think there should be an elemental modifier on the weapon I think void fits best but really anything to make it slightly more viable than dealing with adds exclusively. This is a niche weapon and I respect it as such. No weapon will out preform this one on dealing with adds. Now the glitches with this weapon... .5 Only the bullets prior to the kill shot are returned to the mag. I don't know if this is intentional but it's annoying and as it stands currently with a bare minimum mag size it doesn't really have room to be missing a few bullets. 1. Instant reload doesn't work on harpies so this gun is pointless on vex levels. 2. Auto reload freezes often. Seems like it is where the clip would have ended had auto reload not kicked in. 3. I know there is another one but it's escaping me right now TL;DR: Slight damage buff in PVP Slight damage buff in PVE [u]or[/u] extend time of damage buff from string of curses Add elemental damage to the weapon (void) Add 1 more burst to the current mag size (15->18) Fix bugs in the weapon

      Yea first announcement for the buffs was on september 25th in the Dev notes, and the quote "we're still working on a larger patch to address under performing exotics" has been recycled at least twice that I can find, I'm not going to go through all of their posts but I know for a fact they said some shit like that for patch 1.0.2.3 and patch 1.0.2.2. But the main point is these buffs have been "in the works" for well over a month now. And I'm no coder but considering it took less than a week for VMC to get a nerf i find it pretty -blam!-ing hard to believe that a buff takes any longer to implement. The second PVP kids call for a buff on those weapons is when we'll actually get one. PVE takes a backseat for some -blam!-ing reason I just can't fathom.

        • It's quite clear at this point that Bungie doesn't logic. For evidence, look no further than their incessant need to tweak every little thing that doesn't need tweaked (i.e. The mythoclast, atheon's teleporting) and add gimmicky things that add no value to the game (i.e. The loot cave thing, the jackolytes), all the while ignoring the things that break the game and truly need fixing (i.e. ridiculous lag in the crucible, terrible server stability, mind-numbing repetitiveness of gameplay especially the strike playlists, and the countless bugs in the raid like some players not getting through portals properly).

              I'm disappointed in the thorn and bad juju to the point I won't use energy to upgrade the last 4 damage perks.... Also breaks my heart how they nerfed the hell out of pocket infinity, I worked my ass off for the rare fusion rifles and they do us like that... 3 shots don't kill lvl 28 ultra or major of any kind

            • Honestly.. You're probably right. Both only require simple changes. [b]Thorn[/b] is great as for PvP but lackluster in PvE simply due to ammunition constraints. Fix - Mag from 6 to 8. Increase reserve ammo capacity. Reload speed may be increased. [b]Bad Juju[/b] isn't nearly where it should be. It's most obvious "flaw" is it's 15 round mag, however I believe this is intended due to its signature ability granting it "instant reload" capability and bonus damage after reloading. It's real flaw is that this skill isn't working as well as it should. It's reload speed isn't anything I would call fast even with this ability and the "bonus damage" is negligible given it's small ammo capacity. Fix - Actually grant instant reload capability or at the very least "faster than MIDA" reload capability and boost the damage bonus after reloading. Reserve ammo should also be increased for PvE viability. *MIDA Multi-Tool has a lightning fast reload speed

              • imo the way to take thorn from "meh"... to "damn i love thorn, so glad i spent the time through this grueling bounty" is simple. Slight increase to mag size from 6 to 8, doing this i think the perk bonus on last bullet should be removed and replaced with something more suitable, possibly gain bonus dmg for a short time after a kill, but i would rather see a perk focused on the recoil and stability giving players more options to choose from other than perfect balance. while looking at the guns skill tree there isnt much of a choice to be made when comparing accurized ballistics, field choke, and aggressive ballistics, other than the little bit of stability gained from aggressive ballistics u have to look at ur screen with a magnifying glass to even see the changes in the first two options other than the stability decrease. field choke isnt even a viable option, you would have to literally be retarded to choose it and i think this is where slight impact should be added making players choose between the stability or dmg (personaly id take the impact) the poison damage needs to stack... 100% think about it.. if the bullet is a bee stinger...and i get stung more than once i have more than one wound causing pain to me its just stupid to not have it stack especially with the low amount of ammo provided.. I dont think this change is going to make pvp op, if u hit ur target 2 times in the body he might die with this change but i think they would live to tell the tale 3 shots would deffinitely land a kill which doesnt seem op to me considering i can kill people in 1.5 seconds with an auto rifle without aiming and with a hand cannon accuracy is a must. last but not least, deffinitely needs a reload speed buff reducing it by 40-45% its just way too damn long right now when i purchased my reduced reload speed gloves from the FWC it felt like that was an appropriate base reload speed. when i first saw thorn i was excited to get my hands on one, i found the bounty very hard to complete so when i finally got my thorn i was rather disappointed with its performance... hearing about this buff ive decided to change all my gear from auto rifle to hand cannon perks... but... im starting to lose hope that this "buff" is ever going to make it out. Moral of the story is I worked my ass off to get thorn... that strike at the end was rediculous and i spent hours to complete it, the bounty was not easy... thorn should be one of the best handcannons if not the best hand cannon attainable... and its nowhere near that. Please bungie... fix it.... not only for me... but for everyone. The time of thorn... is now.
