Here's a couple of problems I've noticed with the subclass in general: 1. There is no penalty for an enemy going inside the bubble. Period. In PvP it's not as bad because everyone runs AoL, but it really irks me when on a nightfall strike a vandal can just waltz up to my "impenetrable shield of void energy" and pimp-slap me. There should be some sort of DoT similar to the poison that Hive Wizards can inflict, although minus the slow effect as that would be ridiculous. 2. Force Barrier activates on kill, and yet a Sunsinger gets an overshiled on hit. I thought that this class was supposed to be tanky considering that I look like a walking behemoth, and yet a scantily clad sunbro gets what I get but better. 3. Force Barrier and WoD don't get a timer. I can't count the amount of times I've been standing in my bubble, only for my WoD to unceremoniuosly vanish and leave me eating a mouthful of shrapnel. 4. For an entirely defensive and immobile super thats main purpose is to defend, it reallly fails at this point. GG overpenetrates shield in 2 shots and the 3rd kills the defender. Warlock Nova Bomb either breaks the shield and kills the user or the AoE does. Sunbros Radiance gives comparable damage resist to AoL, but his melee burns on hit so the fight is a 50/50. Strikers destroying the shield by FoH inside of it is understandable, but Aftermath going through the shield and killing me blows my mind. Bladedancers 2HKO a defender with AoL, so it really depends on who strikes first. 5. The greandes... Magnetic either has sniper accuracy or it literally bends around the target, spike greandes need god-like placement to be used as area denial and supressor grenades are a great utility, but their range and damage are extremely underwhelming. Really hoping for some buffs, because the Defender is in dire need of them. Also aplogies for the wall of text. Edit: Catapult also needs to be reworked for both Titan subclasses, as it seems to be both worse than lift and not offer the momentum it advertises on the perk. And on a less serious note I would like a patch that plays disco music when I deploy the WoD. We all strut our stuff inside it so they might as well add it in.

I recommend trying to get if off Xur if possible. I got lucky and pulled it from one of his random Helm Engrams. It effectively repels enemies who step inside your bubble. They get the little red mark above their heads and they also will cover their eyes and back away. I cannot speak for in in PvP bc I have never run into an opposing one myself however, it seems to do its job as i normally don't have an issue killing fools who step into my bubble. OP: all of your other points are valid , including this one. Without the helm, there is no penalty for coming into the bubble. I could write a whole article on how the bubble alone should be changed. I just wanted to let you know, the Helm of Saint -14 works wonders if you have access to it.

  • I've got the helm, and although it does help remedy the issue I find it ridiculous that in order to make my super a viable repellent I have to use an exotic armor piece. It also doesn't stop Bladedancers' auto-lock melee, which kind of vexes me. I'm not slating you and I hope that I don't appear to be condescending. I also got the helm the same way lol.

  • Tbh I just can't seem to part with my armamentarium, it's just too handy. The amount of kills I've had on PvP from people mistakenly thinking that I only have one grenade is just priceless.

  • Oh really? I just got that this week from the Nightfall Raid. So you def recommend upgrading that? Do you get 2 grenades everytime it recharges? Or only two on your first life?

2 grenades every time it recharges. The first grenade is affected by your Disc stat, whereas the 2nd is set to a 1min delay. I haven't tested it extensively but I believe that gauntlets that offer grenade CD on melee hit affect the 1min CD of the second grenade. The extra special and heavy armour is a lifesaver on Nightfalls. Definitely would recommend upgrading it.

  • Good info, thanks. So you don't get two at the same time? Still have to wait for the second one to recharge?

  • When you spawn into strike, VoG, crucible etc you have access to both grenades. After throwing both, the first grenade will regenerate according to your Disc stat and then afterwards the 2nd will start spawning.

  • Perfect, thanks for clearing that up. I may start working on leveling that up tonight. I am feeling the grind hard though lately :(

  • Don't get me wrong, I love sunbros with their cooldown buff, sun praising and all those sweet fusion grenades, I just find it strange that they can effectively be tankier than a class that is called Defender.

  • Pretty much agree with all of that apart from the spike grenades. I absolutely love them! Thanks for writing.

  • I like the spike grenades as well, it's just that not only can they be destroyed by enemy explosions, they also require a great deal of skill and placement to be useable.
