I think this is a symptom of a larger issue. All the vendors are ill-conceived. The gunsmith's weapons are garbage so he's just an NPC you sometimes take tokens to, to get a decent shooter. The Cryptarch decodes engrams but no matter how high you level his reputation his stock is always whites with a couple of greens. The lady selling shaders never has knew stock and the stuff the speaker sells is uniformly crap. As to the specific question about the shaders I honestly believe they made them loot drops in a cynical way to keep us playing and grinding longer so that they can justify spending the money they have spent so far and the money it will cost to fix the issues and add content. More of a personal opinion this, but I think the colour schemes are way off anyway. The tile for bloodpact shows a gold centre, a white circle and a gold background. When you use it the shader is gold white and red :/ You also cant get a good colour combo. I just want a black jumpship but I get yellow and brown or red and blue. The jetbikes are even worse. Black goes with everything. add black and red or black and gold or black and purple. Same for white too
