K/d is an indicator of skill. Since all crucible gamemodes center around getting kills, if your k/d is bad, then you are bad.

  • So if I sit back and raise my KD by head shorting people with my scout, because they're already engaged with someone else and raise my KD, that means I'm better than everyone? There is no 1 on 1, severe server issues and supers, so no, K/D doesn't mean jack. The only way it would matter is if there was an actual way to see a players skill, not this chaotic crap that is called crucible. This mentality is why people do not care for the PvP community. I don't even know why we have a ratio in PVE, that is even worse.

  • K/d is not an indicator of skill. People think it is, but it's not. What if someone hid in a corner and only got kills with a rocket launcher? They could go 6-0 by the end of a match, 6.0. I wouldn't say they makes them better than someone who went 25-5 which is only 5.0. And what about game modes with objectives? Someone who spends all their time successfully taking control points might be a great player but their k/d might say otherwise because they're playing the objective. Someone's kill/death ratio is as much a display of a players skill as their rank in Call of Duty is, i.e. It isn't.

Getting the objective is not an excuse to have a bad k/d. The objectives in Control are merely to there to gain more points per kill If you go negative, you did bad for the team. End of story. I'm talking about overall crucible k/d. One match doesn't mean anything.

  • Idk why anyone here even bothers to reason with you. Your k/d is crap and you say k/d shows skill. Which means you have no skill. (According to your logic at least) so idk why anyone would even bother with you cus by the looks of your PvP records, you're not the brightest.

My k/d is 1.40something on my main character. I would consider myself a fairly bad to average at best player. Unlike everyone else on this forum who thinks they're amazing with a 0.50 k/d I actually realize I'm not very good. You have a great k/d so you're a pretty good player. Simple logic. As for my own skill, I'm perfectly aware of the game's mechanics, balancing, ... I just lack in the technical department as I have a large brain cyst/tumor that is impairing my reaction time and coordination amongst other things. Because of the long killtimes in this game I'm less impaired but I'm still far from great.

  • Yeah one match doesn't mean anything. But it's all cumulative. My point is that if someone wanted to inflate their k/d they wouldn't have to get loads of kills, just a higher ratio. You can do better than someone in a match and have a worse k/d than them. People get too hung up on things like k/d like it actually matters. It's more about how they got those kills. Take GTA for example. If someone did nothing but drive a tank and li peoe they'd have a great k/d. Wouldn't mean they're better than other people. There are too many variables to consider when talking about k/d. I'd rather have the guy who can go 25-5 on my team than the guy who goes 6-0. Every time.
