There was no manipulation or altering of code done by any player when using that platform. So no cheating was involved. OR you could figure out your own way, which is exactly what we are discussing. So long as no one altered the design of the area as that would constitute cheating, there are going to be MULTIPLE ways of figuring out how to play fight the boss legitimately, not just one. And that pillar, which Bungie designed themselves, and had an area for players to stand on and simply take cover (which you can do with any other wall down below), was a legit strategy.
