Factions and Agendas pt. 1

Greetings to my fellow Guardians, Today I will discuss our well known friends in the Tower, the Factions, and their own agendas. Some are pretty cut and dry and the Grimoire cards cement that view while others are a little less clear. Let's have a look now at the first group, Dead Orbit. Dead Orbit: The wonderful collective or people who have determined that the war is lost and the best thing to do is to run. Arach, the Dead Orbit handler is hardly an inspiring character as he hides in a corner and whispers about doom. Both what he says and the Grimoire data hold to the theory that they have given up and will take a fleet out of the Sol System. This is ironic since the Awoken are descendants of the first people to attempt this and the Reef is the graveyard of that failed attempt. Nevertheless, Dead Orbit seeks to steal what they can and use it for themselves. The other factions look at them as trash and say just as much. I personally think they are the most simple of factions. Cowards that have lost all hope, they will seek out an illusion rather than stand their ground. The problem is that they can't survive out there and they know it; which is why they seek to recruit and arm guardians in the Crucible. The bigger issue at hand is when they decide to run. If the fleet is anything close to serious and not just a cobbled mess of old colony ships from the Cosmodrone; that presence will definitely draw attention from the Darkness. The moment they run, hell will rain down on them. Even they should be smart enough to know this. So how do you ensure your escape from a doomed city without pursuers? You leave bait out, namely, the City. My theory is that Dead Orbit will sabotage the city in some way when they believe that it is over so that the Darkness and its forces will be preoccupied with the City so that they can launch the fleet. So what do you guys think? When the time comes and Dead Orbit decides that the City is lost; will they be ready and how will they ensure their own safety?
