it's almost always better to incentivize than the penalize
Love this. And exactly the lesson they didn't learn after Iron Banner. Pretty much the whole point is to stay alive during that "fight". If the situation was real life, anyone with the will to live will do what it takes to do so. And yes it was an exploit, so is moving behind a wall or crouching for cover. First definition of "exploit" from a simple Google search: 1. make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource). The resource in question here is the terrain...that the level designer(s) created. And the players are making full use of, which actually is a tactic. Soooooo........ The level designers themselves need to a be a bit more clever, and think about what they would do to survive if they were thrown into a situation as the last Templar fight. Keeping in mind the idea (which seems to be out the window now) of gamers playing their own way, using the resources given to them. Because forcing this artificial ceiling nonsense is dated and actually very petty

  • honestly making the relic dissapear was a perfect idea and that all they had to do. we'd have been forced off eventually just for that the kill wall is stupid as hell. basically they took a portion of the giant searchable area (for secrets chests and whatnot) and said "NOPE NOTHING TO SEE HERE. YOU CAN JUMP 200 FT DOWN A CHASIM BUT NOT STAND ON THIS PIECE OF FLOATING STONE." cause we beat their design... sad.

  • Exactly. It's punishing the players for thinking.

Yea. I was running through to the archon priest i believe and they put a barrier to keep out my pike because they didnt want people coming up the wall. After the two hydra fight. If they didnt want you bringing them then just freaking test every little rock and slope people could use with a vehicle to get up. Dont throw up a barrier :\ If i find any exploit it's vehicle exploits. Nothing more fun than destroying enemies with a tank where a tank isnt suppose to be.

  • Right. The lay of the land should be designed cleverly as to why you aren't able to do so. Not just throw up an invisible wall. Now that we are approaching 2015, games really shouldn't have them, or have need of them.
