Detiny: Not just a PvP game. My opinion on the hotfix.

I can understand nerfing the Mythoclast in PvP, but why should it be so in PvE? This makes little to no sense. The hardest weapon to get in the game and now its a peashooter. I don't have it myself but a couple of friends I don't play with much do and they asked me to look into why, not how, its being nerfed. I've read the hot fix just like many others and seen videos of the damage it can do in PvP, but in PvE it should be a deal breaker. Why? Because it is the most powerful weapon anyone has seen, past present and apparently in the future as well since the Vex were guarding it so carefully. A weapon this closely guarded is always a "weapon of mass destruction" so to speak. Like Zeus' lighting bolts or Poseidon's Trident it is a great and powerful weapon, but is now forgotten by time. Please bungie, don't allow PvP problems interfere with PvE now or ever. You already have a dwindling fan base, continuing to do thing like this will only make it worse. On a separate note. If you really want to fix this game you should be more focused on the servers not the weapons. I was just doing crucible and about my third match in I started lagging horribly, then I kept getting error code after error code. Finally I just quit playing because I used FOH in the middle of 3 players and nothing happened then I died, spawned back in and some how got 4 kills with my FOH. Wtf, bungie? Fix the servers first then worry about the rest. This is the exact reason why you have lost players. If you don't believe me, READ YOUR F U C K I N G feed back forum. Your patches won't mean shit if people are no longer playing. I swear getting you guys to listen to your players is like trying to sell condoms to the pope. Almost impossible.

  • The "little nerfs here and there to satisfy those crying about getting owned in PvP is really starting to wear on me. I have been a day one player and with a brief time offline not withstanding have played for hours a day to EARN every piece of gear I have. and it's unlocks. Even sacrificing good gear to get those important shards or energies to upgrade something else. What I find hard to believe is that it is necessary to basically kill the usefulness of a type of weapon as a whole across the game world because of it's effect on one particular section of play. The Vex M basically got double nerfed in a short time as not only did it get hit with the one for it alone but also the overall for the auto rifles. I recently got and tried out a legendary raid auto rifle Aetheon's something or other and found it to be a pain as it was doing and is doing far less damage than a gun 4 or 5 levels lower than itself the Strangers rifle. I had to empty a clip into a dreg to kill it when I was able to do three or four bursts with the strangers rifle to pop the head. I still have yet to pop a head with the new raid weapon. Disgusting really as I feel it may be so useless as to be the next dismantled weapon in a history of failed attempts at gear. I want to like it as having a primary with a elemental effect is nice. Especially one that has void as you all seem so happy to throw void burn at us over and over again. But let's dig into the Mythoclast.... Looking at your own stats on who has and has not done the raid, overall players and the like. 4.5 million purchased the game. 1.25 million have played the raid, 60 percent of those have completed it, on normal. Of those 125,000 have completed it on hard with the Vex drop rate at about 10 percent of those time 1 in 6 getting the drop in a party that has earned it. so maybe approx. 10- to 15 thousand people even have the weapon at all let alone fully upgraded yet it deserved a nerf? I find the math hard to justify the result.

  • Absolutely agree. Never even got to use mine in PvP before this. I truly only care about the PvE which is why I bought the game. The only time I play PvP is for the bounties and when I (rarely) saw a Mythoclast I didn't complain I admired the players skill and time taken to get it and wanted mine own that much more. Now, why even use the most difficult and rare gun in the game?
