You've never played world of warcraft, have you? There's only 1 type of top tier armor, everyone that gets to the top tier looks the exact same as everyone else that gets to the top tier. It's a symbol of strength and accomplishment. Faction armor IS important as well, as it's the best way to get the armor that will boost you (Unless RNGsus was your best friend the entire time) to the level that makes playing the raid possible. Edit: there's only one type of top tier armor per class, as there is in destiny.
