If all developers start to follow this ridiculous trend, I might just stop playing games altogether. It's not like I'd be missing out on much, anyway. The most recent games have only been disappointments, the community that plays these games are vile and unpleasant, and the developers are unresponsive and seemingly don't care. I'm not upset at Bungie anymore, because I've realized that this ordeal isn't really their fault. I blame the entire videogame industry. Gaming isn't about just picking up a controller and having fun, like it once was; it's about dealing with immature assholes, elitist pricks, and wondering why I let myself get fooled by shiny trailers and flashy reviews. I'm just sad that such a valuable hobby that I've had for years has been almost completely ruined. I miss the old days.

 • I too shed a bitter tear with you comrade. Long gone are the days of old. Seems that, at least in the most recent past, I have been having less and less fun with gaming in general and it saddens me as I don't play any less. Makes me feel like this obsession has turned addiction. I mean, most people with addictions hate them, but continue with them because they have to. Sigh...

 • The way they did things (locking off spots needing more dev) itsn't the problem. That's a logical way to go about programming/structure. It's the fact that the money and time invested didn't get them any more results than what we've seen. That's the problem.

 • I am not sure I understand. We are limited to seeing the effort and investment results, even in their completion, because of a paywall. Yet you say the paywall isn't the issue, it's the lack of 'fruits of the labor' Unless you mean that even this is lackluster for the money/time spent.

 • If I were a dev (working towards that) and I HAD to release something that wasn't complete I would be working up to the release date and anything I didn't get finished I'd lock until I completed it. You think they're going to come out and say "Yeahhhh about that guys..we screwed up and despite the time and money we had we couldn't finished things" No..especially with Activision. They'll never admit a wrong. So they will not comment and they'll say what we have is a finished game and the locked content is DLC still in dev. That's what I think is going on. Locking away future content is okay as long as it wasn't supposed to be a part of original release. Think of DLC like movies. The first movie comes out and before the crowd sees the first movie they are already working on the 2nd one. Well, with development if you have the time, of course you'd want to put some of the future DLC on disc. Saves you some troubles later and download times. I'm just saying locking content in particular cases is okay and logical actually. In Bungie's case...I don't have enough facts to make a statement as to if their case was okay or not really but it seems they dropped the ball for how many resources they had.

 • Honestly I think it's far simpler than that. Release destiny with JUST enough content to keep players occupied till November. Activision's other AAA title launches. I.e. Cod Once the fanfare from its launch dies off, surprise surprise: destiny dlc 1 comes out Keeping both proverbial gravy trains flowing without them stunting one another

 • I'm definitely not disregarding that as a possibility. Activision lost my respect after Ghosts. Yeah the COD franchise has gotten continually worse but it's the only title (aside from Halo) that I can play multiplayer with friends on. That being said...my Ghosts account got wiped. Spoke with tech support and the person hinted at a mess up with servers etc. Nothing came of it. Tried contacting them multiple times -no help. Money. Profit matters customer doesn't. As the iPhone autocorrect would say They can suck my duck.
