Yet again the Destiny community proves itself to be wrong yet again and trying to spread these ridiculous tactics like kill LESS mobs to get to the reward screen to get more rewards faster! When I played Diablo 3 and grind to 100 Paragon, we didn't operate on such stupidity. We figured out how to kill MORE and do it FASTER, therefore making it more EFFICIENT.
Speedrunning strikes by skipping low+high lvl mobs is NOT EFFICIENT for loot. I don't really care what bounty you're there for or marks you're grinding. I grind for marks too but when I go into a strike, I play as a team and that means I'm going to be there killing stuff. Now you can either kill stuff with me so we can get this done FASTER and thereby INCREASING our chances for loot, or you can skip it and do it all yourself. That's your call. Like I've said previously, I don't mind skipping the low level free roam stuff, but once it says respawn restricted and the mobs are level 24, I don't skip that stuff.
To address some of the OP's points though, the 24 strikes do not have a higher drop rate of engrams, at least not off of mobs. They have a higher rate of engrams on reward, however his idea is not completely wrong. The more stufff you kill and the faster you do it, the more loot you get which increases your odds of getting a legendary item. However, where I disagree is killing the low level free roam mobs. I don't kill those things and I go straight for the respawn restricted zone. Once there, THEN I will kill everything.
