I can make twice as many vanguard marks farming public events? Umm no, that's is a load of crap. I can do a strike usually in 14mins so that's 6 vanguard marks every 14-15 mins. I'll go in patrol and a public event won't happen for usually 30mins, sometimes longer. I'm not wasting my time running strikes, I'd be wasting my time killing all the enemies and taking 5-10 mins extra since I only have limited time to play each day.

If you're staying in one area, waiting half hour for a public event you're doing it wrong. I can get 3 publics done in the time it takes you to do one strike, and at 4 marks per gold im making double what you are, in the same amount of time and probably with a better chance at ascendants. With half the effort. ;-)

Then how do you do it right? I can go from area to area and never run into a public event.

There is an app, google play store or apple store. Search "destiny timers" you can select certain planets or ALL public events, I usually only select earth. And I mostly only use events in the divide, steppes, mothyards and shore. App tells you how long until weekly resets and how long until xur as well. :-)

Well still I have more fun playing strikes then patrol. Every strike I do I get 2-3 engrams and I can go in patrol and murder a ton of enemies and get nothing.
